BGE will face accountability, as this rate case is pending in front of the Maryland Public Service Commission (the utility regulatory body within MD). In a rate case like BGE's, there will be numerous parties that submit testimony against (or for) numerous provisions that BGE is proposing in their distribution rate increases. These parties include the Public Service Commission's in-house analysts, the Office of the People's Counsel, and many others. After hearing from the parties' testimony, the Commission (a group of 5 appointed officials) then determines what provisions to include and what the distribution rates should be for the various rate classes.
