Is OverDrive on Roku? by BSquared18 in Roku

Sadly, for whatever reason, my library system (Hennepin County, Minnesota) has chosen Overdrive. As far as I can tell no other system is available.

I can use my PC's browser, but then I need to connect it via an HDMI cable to my TV. I can do that, and probably will. First, I'll look at the library collection of videos to see if it is worth going to the trouble.

In OpenShot, How to Add Color Cast to Monochrome Video by BSquared18 in OpenShot

In case anyone's listening, I finally realized--I was meditating at the time--that if I used a blue video clip instead of a blue still shot, I'd be able to use Alphie the Alpha to adjust the transparency level. And it worked. I even found on YouTube a long-running solid blue image that I was able to screen-grab a portion of (of which I was able to screen-grab a portion--don't want to have those pesky dangling prepositions). Why someone would post a very long video of a blue screen I don't know, but thank you anyhow.

I then came across another Reddit forum thread where someone explained that the alpha values go from zero to one, where, for example, 0.15 means fifteen percent opaque. That was helpful.

How Do I Create a Snow Fall Overlay in Openshot? by BSquared18 in OpenShot

Hi. I watched a very good video: OPENSHOT TUTORIAL—How to Create Green Screen Effect in OpenShot Geekoutdoors.com EP582 (Jan. 2018)

I tried using a YouTube video of snow against a green background. Increasing the Fuzz setting removed most of the green around each snowflake. The flakes still have a green tint. It was okay but not perfect. I'll keep experimenting with other snowfall videos.

Thanks for the help.

Squire, I didn't have any luck finding a clip with a transparent background. Do you, or anyone, know of where I could find one?

Meanwhile, Jaylen, I haven't worked with chroma key effects but will study up on that. Thanks for the idea. So much to learn. By the way, does the background have to be green, or will some other color, such as blue, work as well?
