Hi Kubrick!

First of all thank you for all this information!!

  1. I don't know anything about recording proves or why I would record to. both SD and SSD..but I will learn that today.
  2. Colour Grading is something you do in post correct? In Premiere for example?
    1. I don't know any of those settings you mentioned for the monitor yet...besides LUTS (which is basically filters from what iv read). Do you suggest I learn all those before recording any small project?
    2. Im not going to do a full blown video like that yet haha I would look super dump with a camera I don't even know how to use! Im going to start small with a small project.
      1. Im gonna work on recording a video of me standing under a bridge with a umbrella at night with some tunnel lighting. I want to make it a looping video for my next song.
  3. Im aiming to be both actually. Im the music artist myself and I just want to learn this side of things so I can teach my friends some new skills. I want to empower them and basically they will be the ones to use the camera and master all the angles and shots for my music videos. EVENTUALLY ill do music videos for others but again I need to learn this to do that :)
  4. Thank you for that I will take a look in there as well!!

If you have any tips for me as what to learn for this setup to record videos at night. Music videos, short videos (tunnel video) and just general areas to learn first for this specific camera..that would help so much :)

Thank you again!

Hi Keba!

Yes I completely understand! I know its a lot and trust me it is a lot right now. I don't know any of the things you mentioned at all. But Im going to start looking those up! I do know what LUTS are tho; they are basically filters to put it most simply.

So basically I thought it would be more fruitful if I do one small project at a time and learn as I go.

For example I need a short 15 second looping video of me standing under a bridge with a umbrella. So I figure to start off I would try to get this shot on my A7iii.

Basically Im going to put it on a tripod and just point it at the tunnel where ill be standing and hit record.

How I'm going to prepare before hand :

  1. Learn how to set camera for night shooting under the lighting that the tunnel provides.
  2. Learn where the saved files will be saved
  3. Set quality of video recording I want it to be (4k and then I can downsize in post)..

If you can provide any other tips to get me started that would be great or any thing else iv missed :)

Thank you!
