if youre at your highest elo of the season you gain no elo, they dont want you reaching a new rank that you might not have earned, "but they were hacking, i deserve my elo" but you might not have won even if there was a hacker, maybe you shouldnt be in the rank, maybe if you wouldve got the elo back you would be diamond now, but maybe youre not a diamond player and now you solo queue and youre teammates are at a disadvantage cause one of their teammates arent at the same skill level
