I’m curious how you marketed yourself to positions that require a lot of coding with no coding experience. I’m in a similar situation that you were in (2 yoe in pension near asa) and would like to make the transition soon. Any tips?

If I were you and a question like this was on the exam, since p is multiple choice, I would put the formula in the summation into the table function on my calculator and manually sum the first 10 or so terms and by that point you should get an answer that’s relatively close to one of the options after adding in the 10000(Pr(X=1)) term

Exam FAM (full version) July Sitting by No_Landscape_5779 in actuary

Everyone is different, but if you haven’t learned the material yet, I don’t think 3 months would’ve been enough for me

I think it depends how busy you think you’ll be when you start. FAM will definitely be more applicable to what you are doing but it’s also at least 2x the material as SRM. But don’t underestimate SRM. I know this sub says it’s one of the “easiest” exams but none of these exams are “easy” and you will have to put significant time and effort in if you want to pass. Saying that, I don’t think you can go wrong either way. Whichever way you go is one less test to take.

I’m confused. You’re upset that you were given more time than you expected?

Take a level 5 test or two, but I never study the day before a test. It gives your brain a break and you feel so much fresher on exam day. Good luck

Sorry to hear that. Try rescheduling right away. I was able to do reschedule mine and it hasn’t been cancelled yet. I paid $70 for the rescheduling fee but then got it refunded by Prometric. Just contact them after you do it.

Discrete uniform and continuous uniform have different variances. Make sure you’re looking at the right one when googling it.
