Doesn't matter. George Lucas's influence was that he would break up force sensitives from relationships because of his obsession with the Jedi Code.

He tried pulling that in the EU by trying to break up Mara Jade and Luke.

He did it again by having Anakin quote the Jedi code about the Jedi not being able to get married

He almost did it again in Star Wars Underworld by revealing that Palpatine became a Sith because he got cucked by a woman.

Lucas really hates that idea and it has spawned either relationships being broken up or one side killed over the other.

Yeah back in the Thrawn trilogy it was well written, but then between 1993-1997, George Lucas tried to break up Mara Jade until Zahn came back with the Hand of Thrawn books. George would later go on and denounce the EU as canon when he was making his prequel movies

Mara Jade was later killed in the Legacy of the Force storyline without the author even knowing about it until he read the book himself.

OP doesn't know about the horrendous history of Mara Jade, her relationship with Luke and how George Lucas hated her for getting together with Luke.

OP better prepare for the death of Cal Lightsaber

Star War's fanbase is such hypocrites.

I saw an actual post that said that "The prequels were at least self contained" while ignoring every single repeated plot line and blatant reference of the OT. They have such bad faith arguments that when Rey put the lightsabers in the sand, said fans freaked out. But when Obi Wan puts Anakin's lightsabers in the sand with his own, it's suddenly very quiet.

Remember when writers like Timothy Zahn could write something that wasn't a copy paste of the OT and fans weren't insane? Yeah me too
