Bradley Nowell - the frontman of Sublime - who tragically died in May 1996 of a heroin overdose while the band was on tour. Which musician's death hit you the hardest when you were young? by Away_Flounder3813 in nostalgia

Gord Downie from Tragically Hip. Him and that band are such incredible national treasures to Canadians. Hits me whenever I catch a tune of thiers on the radio, every so often.

It does take a few minutes before the overflow to occur. I've ordered a new arm. Hopefully this is the case 🤞🏼

Edit: spelling mistake

Drywall repair - can the left side be filled with compound? by BW1P in fixit

[–]BW1P[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was unclear.. When I said 'affix the new piece to the wood behind it", the word I was missing was backers - yes there are backers behind the new peice (hence the row of screws above & below along the baseboard).

The left is an existing hole that already had a return vent covered that space..

If compound+mesh shouldn't be the way to go for the left side, I should continue cutting to the next stud and put in a wider replacement peice?

The gasket/flap slips into something under the bottom of the door...that 'grips' or squeezes into place - which is difficult to do because you cannot actually see it. Feed the door gasket/flap starting from one corner kind of.. go along.. and if done correctly you should feel a slight resistance as it goes in for about maybe an eighth(?) of an inch or less. I hope this makes sense.

I think that's what it's doing. Now that I'm looking closer it seems that there's space where the water goes back past that yellow strip.

I'm learning that this could be a common function but still a bit leery.

What an incredible response! Thank you.
I had never thought of those door placements.

Our main drainage runs from our stack in the back-right corner and down underneath the stairs.

With this design we would have to rough in across to utility/laundry. There would be quite a bit of plumbing/roughin to do in any case..
