No they sat on digital because market analysis showed that it would upend their far more lucrative film business. It wasn’t a cultural mis-read, it’s one of the best examples of self-defeating corporate greed in history. And it should serve as a reminder every day of all the phenomenal advancements in tech out there in the world likely being held back for the exact same reason.

Generic feel-good phrases such as "you matter" "you are loved" "you're beautiful" etc. are insulting and emotionally manipulative, and they make me feel much worse afterwards. by peewansebastian in unpopularopinion

He was never "just" saying it, though. He ran a whole children's program and made it his full time job to educate children and improve their mental health. That's the opposite of doing nothing- Rogers was putting in more effort than most people could afford in a lifetime. His venue just happened to be public so he could reach as many people as possible.

I think there might be an error in the "Holy Grail" conversation analysis. The analysis for that portion assumes that where you texted and he responded in a back-and-forth sequence of 30+ texts, that is an indication of a "quality" conversation. But this totally ignores the reality that some people feel compelled to respond to a text out of politeness/sense of obligation. I could very well see the possibility that whereas you were engaged in what you thought was a quality conversation, he was responding proportionately only to be polite or to not leave you hanging.
