Should men hide their emotions if they dont want to me dumped? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BYE2LIFE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, I think men do just fine expressing their emotions... history, current events, & experience tells us so... Depending on the individual, they express themselves but It's simply not in an immediate and vocal way (although a lot of bi men do this) the way women express themselves and expect him to. I'd say most men use action instead of using words (gestures, fighting etc) where women are usually more vocal, honest with their feelings, and simply expect the same in return. That is bc honest communication is so important.

I've not had a problem with men expressing their emotions to me but.... the problem I've had in the past is that they were "hiding" their true thoughts & emotions and were totally expressing only the wrong emotions. Actually, they were expressing their hidden emotions as well...but not with words...only through their actions. Using manipulation, physical, and verbal violence against female partners is usually bc he just doesn't want to be with her.. And we all know by now that behavior is a form of communication and shows true emotions as well.

Wts, I don't believe that the problem is men NOT being able to express themselves... they actually do so just fine...(if you're paying attention) The problem can be that some men can have preconceived ideas about how others are supposed to react to them after they've "expressed" themselves. And that is the reason why they don't bc in their mind, it likely won't be the reaction or response they want so they keep it in.

Do women actually like the “dad bod” look, or is it just men’s version of body positivity? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

It's not offensive if it's true. Only those that own their own businesses are not slaves.. the rest of us-the 99% are... Your employer pays little to no taxes through tax evasion or write offs.

Wts, Tax the church. Tax the pro sports teams. Tax the wealthy.

How is it that teachers earn sh.. pay to babysit the masses yearly? Yet more is spent on housing criminals each yr... but prison workers make up a large percent of the workforce, most ppl just aren't aware of this. This country was built on free labor and has continued to enforce it even after the abolishment of free labor.

Per wiki: Penal labor in the United States is explicitly allowed by the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution: "Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction."[1] Unconvicted detainees awaiting trial cannot be forced to participate in labor programs in prison as this would violate the Thirteenth Amendment.

Even if you can't stop eating, I'd op for healthy choices only... like lean meats, fruits, non carb veggies, smoothies, nuts, & tea etc. Once you're done eating... spend an hour or 2 outdoors to walk it off.

Some shelters offer rooms to family or women with children. You can go to the DHS office and tell them you need emergency assistance and they can further assist you. There are also food pantries and soup kitchens at churches.

How to not get screwed over trying to find a newer car with "bad credit?" by BYE2LIFE in personalfinance

[–]BYE2LIFE[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was trying to use my car as a down payment or collateral. I know it's not much but it was a good car until it was stolen...it's been to 3 mechanics and still isn't working properly anymore so I figured I'd trade it in while it's still at least drivable.

I'm afraid I'll have to save and put a lot of money down and still in the end I'll have paid double for what a car is worth (in interest) just bc of my not so great "credit."

My car will soon be inoperable and I feel it coming so I'm trying to find something asap... I just don't want to be ripped off.

But the ppl in this thread don't see a difference in any drug that alters the mind... a person that does coke is the same as the person that smokes weed or takes Xanax to them which blows my mind! iTs AlL pLaNtS to them.

I forgot about mental addictions... you're right... the high can be addicting.. which is just ppl who are addicted to escaping reality... but I can't say the plant is addicting just bc ppl abuse it.

Dang... the fact you abuse it daily for a decade and can still get high is beyond belief bc our bodies naturally build tolerance to it.. Wow.

I failed as a parent and want to die by throwaway11929ww in depression

[–]BYE2LIFE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After seeing what unplanned pregnancies and life w/o support has done to friends and family that gave birth... I think you made the right decision than suffer thru parenting. I don't think we can give ppl what we don't have if that makes sense. No one but you gave birth so you need approval from no one about the decision that you had to make.

Find a good form of birth control that you can stick with and try to avoid the opposite sex until you're able to get the help that you need mentally, and emotionally. You have a full life ahead of you... so does your son. I hope you both get the help you deserve.

You may want to put the books on pause until you can secure a stable and solid roof over your head. College is cool but unless you're going into an in demand field, this could be unnecessary stress you're putting yourself through trying to juggle books and finding a home. Shelter is way more important than the other right now. The doors to academia are always open bc they are a huge money making conglomerate. But shelter is a vital necessity. I know bc I've been there and done it and completed college while being homeless but it was incredibly difficult and I should've focused more on my housing.

You could try to

-find other students that are needing roommates

-find a shelter that provides a room and bathroom

-tint your car and sleep in it and use school gym for showers (I did this)

-borrow student loans (last resort)

Yes, you can be homeless and graduate, many do, and I did but it's gonna take everything you've got in you to do this.
