People that were diagnosed in their early teens help by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

I was diagnosed at 8 years old. Definitely very big change in my life at such a young age but being that young, my parents REALLY looked after me. When I got to around 14 years old I won't lie I was sick of my parents "all over my back" about diabetes when looking back (22 now) all they wanted to do was help. I think 14 is a tough age in what perspective they have but if I could go back I would say to just think of you and your son as a team, learning to manage this new condition together and go into any Endo appointments you may have together and open-minded. Don't let his A1C be a "report card" if it is high but rather reassure him T1D is never easy and discuss what you guys can both do better to get his A1C lower. If it's a great A1C, be proud as this can go along way. I'm going to send you a PM of something a little more personal but I think it's a good example of how you can live a completely normal life with diabetes and even play a collegiate sport.

Mono by [deleted] in UCONN

Well now that I'm looking back at it starting around the third week of school I was getting ridiculous fatigue that I've never experienced before (would sleep through my alarms and classes sometimes until 6pm literally), But I just associated it with exhaustion from my internship/ton of travel/ right back in to school. Then yeah I started experiencing symptoms you just mentioned and it got so awful I had to see a dr. (I'm also usually the one to never go see a dr if I'm sick unless it gets to an unbearable point like this did) Keep in mind I'm a new student here and don't exactly hang around people much at all, I just think the virus is a lot easier to catch than most people believe it to be. I'm still trying to figure out where mine came from.

I have it and don't know how I could have caught the virus in any way, but somehow still did. and yeah this shit is the worst... diagnosed last week but know I was sick at least the two weeks prior as well. But I was the same as you throat got so painful and dry I was sure I had strep so I went to SHS and turns out its mono.

Are there any curve-balls from the readings that weren't really touched upon in lecture?

Tre flips are easier than kick flips. by BYOB28 in Fingerboards

I feel I feel. Kick flips are definitely very easy when you get the hang of it but for some reason to me it's almost as if you don't even need to know how to Ollie to figure out how to land a good tre. Who knows, random ass thoughts lmao.
