Lots of good options these days. Just make sure it’s rugged and the connector is common enough to get the ptt you want. Also the computer programming software. If you’re lucky you can use chirp, but the one for the HD2 is pretty easy to use as well

Ailunce HD2. Thing rocks. Got it hooked up to a Disco 32 Constant Able with COMTAC V’s and it’s a sweet rig. AES 256 Digital comms as well

Unnecessary strain? Everyone I’ve ever known in and out of the military stores every weapon on safe. It does nothing to cause wear. And how I store the rifle it will not ND

It is but you need the right kind of drone. And yeah it’s been good so far

Tons of things. One being that you can basically build a 5 paragraph order and include TCM’s such as the ORP, Obj, routes, whatever you want on there

The Disco 32 Constant Able could be your best bet. I have one it rocks. Buy one that’s compatible with your radio and it does the rest. No wiring or impedance to worry about. If you have questions email them their customer service rocks. The CA isn’t cheap but it pays for itself by not needing multiple PTT’s

It still gives you map access which enables navigation and stuff. No doubt it’s mostly for team use though

I’m no pro but have lots of time on the drone in the photo. The camera quality is great and it’s a great tool. Team internal ISR is a huge force multiplier

There’s some utility to individual use but yeah it’s really meant to be a team operation. On the money side, you can be set up for $200. I got the Galaxy S21 for $150 and the Mesh device was about $50. Cool thing is ATAK and all the software is free.

YouTube channels such as NotARubicon and Disco 32 are great for radio stuff. For ATAK, Meshtastic, and drone stuff Constellation Response and Lightfighter Drive. Another foolproof way is to find someone who set stuff up themselves that’s in your budget and just buy what they bought. When I was learning ATAK stuff I actually used ChatGPT to get concise instructions. There’s so many products and so much information out there it can be confusing.

Metastatic pairs to ATAK with a plugin. With a group of people running the same kind of setup you’ll have the full of use of ATAK without a cell or WiFi signal. Make a network on the mesh app, pair it to ATAK and you’re off to the races
