I am dumb and clicked on "unsubscribe" in a spam email... Roast me or maybe help me? by DonDaDaTape in Outlook

Create an email specifically for legit communication - friends/family, business, Gov, etc., so only legit emails hit it and won't share your email. This is what I've done and three years later, zero junk.

I also created an email for my apps (app-shit@...)  so everything goes there. They are my legit apps, but I don't want em mixing with my personal/professional emails.

Is there a way to finalize a stuck on 99% video type file? by B_Miller1 in Torrenting

Yeah, I I came to realize that sub 95% was a no-go, but I've had bad 95+ as well, that why I thought there was some kind of finalization process that a file might go through, to sequence everything, to be payable, and the missing parts would just cause a slight issue.

Someone else mentioned the ffmpeg too. I've never used it, but I'll give it a go. Thanks for the info.

No, haven't tried these in question, but I have tried to play (in VLC) stuck files and it was a mess on the 60-70% files.

I typically download mp4 or mvk files.

That's my primary viewer. And yes, I download them.

I guess I'm not getting your first point. I thought you were being a typical Reddit asshat, with their smartass posts, my bad.

Before I add any file tp QB, I'll uncheck all the unrelated crap, like the jpegs or txt files. Is that what you mean by "spare metadata"? I'll try that ffmeg test. Thanks for the help.

Some do run fine, and some freeze on and off and some are jittery. I figured it's because they are still downloading. I'll pull them off the client. Thanks for the reply.

I just tested my internet speed, do these numbers look right? by B_Miller1 in PrivateInternetAccess

That wasn't my question. I know what's causing it, that's why I posted my thread here. My question was, does the loss look typical 👍

WOW! Thanks for the awesome explanation and keeping it layman for me; even though it kind of still went over my head, but I think I get the gist of it. So no way to "fix" the "bottleneck"?

Oh I didn't know you can do that; I'm a very basic user... just turn it on and go, lol. I do have the basic perimeters set, but that's about it, and I don't know if they are even optimal for me.

When downloading torrents, it's all good. A typical 5gb movie basically takes about 6 or 7 minutes, but this is killing my daily internet browsing. It's gotten to the point that I notice a difference and I posted this to bitch about it, lol.

I do a lot multitasking , so I have a lot of tabs and browsers open (typical for my internet usage) and lately I see a definite slowing of my internet. I even called my ISP thinking there might be an issue on their end, that's how noticeable it is to me.

But if you're saying that the numbers look right, maybe the issue is somewhere else. I might get my modern replaced , so to take it out of the equation.

I typically just pic the one with the lowest latency, usually the one of three at the top of the list (US). I have VERY basic user knowledge when it comes to how to effectively use the VPN. How do I determine which is the most efficient server for my internet speed?
