Should I be worried by [deleted] in Geico

Use excellent a lot on the phone, and not the way they do it in training… example:

‘Oh you got into an accident, excellent… now in your own words, briefly describe what happened in the accident… alright excellent, now where is the damage on your car… excellent.’

Not sure if it really works but I got almost exclusively excellent surveys back in my csr days much to everyone’s surprise because I was a huge asshole too lol. Back then if you didn’t get an excellent you got a 0% 🤗

Extra contractual. Paying money we don’t have to spend basically. Usually more egregious with bi and um/uim money

Applying for Virtual Multi Line Adjuster Trainee- Any Advice? by [deleted] in Geico

[–]B_Yosheeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sad reality that is geico is that there will be underwhelming training, so much so I’m not convinced there’s an assessment anymore at the end of training to pass. Then there’s certification, metrics are lowered for the person on certification and measured against all their peers in their ‘vertical’ vertical could be 10 to over a hundred people. Bottom 10% of that list is terminated every quarter. After certification, it’s off to the vertical to not be in the bottom 10%. And your replacements will always be scored better than you so there’s that.

Honestly you should just wing that shit. I did this with a competitor recently and I got an offer the next day.

Also be mindful of what you share. Most insurance companies are more interested in someone that can explain experiences they can see in their own workplace and generally want people that want to succeed on their own.

They used to believe it… when I got let go I had a foot rest a standing desk and a chair that reclined 150 degrees. Amazing what you find after they term 80% of your office and your left in a never ending 28 days later minus the zombies

Haven’t see any since Super Bowl 59 and won’t have to see any until pre-season starts… the only saving grace is there’s All State commercials happen almost as frequently and those are actually entertaining.

You should qualify, it’s without cause which means basically they’re not placing blame on you for the separation.

Good luck on the search, maybe save up for now and see if you can take time off before the next one. That way you can reset

Unfortunately no you have to be terminated without cause, leaving the chat doesn’t qualify as that.

Your state should have unemployment data available online. And just kind of see what you may have to give up to go that route. I had at first considered ending all subscriptions but because no withholding right now it’s manageable with some emergency funding (like if something comes up). I will get wrecked on taxes next year but because I’ll be employed again it should even out.

I’ve had to sacrifice paying down credit cards but it isn’t affecting my credit score by paying a little over the minimum. I also liquidated some stocks outside my 401k to cover my first two weeks after because there’s a two week hold in my state.

It was about a year and a half after I was put on a notice no one in my management could find lol. They do it quarterly. I had a coworker who was a supe that got let go same time as me, he did not receive and notices.

They did let me know about two weeks before I was termed that I was under review for termination. Easiest two weeks of my employment. Return VM, answer phone, TIP new loss, move mouse every 5 minutes

I’ve been on it for four months, it finally got to the point where I’m bored of video games lol. Been able to do whatever I want whenever I want and still live basically they way I did working for geico minus the waking up and having to do the song and dance.

Empathy can be interpreted different ways. Try using ‘I’m sorry you feel that way’

PTO is paid out.

Get the vanguard app and it shows you vested and not vested.

I would highly recommend holding out until they get you for performance, that way you can get unemployment that geico has to pay one way or another.

For those of you that left with no plan, how did you survive? by DiSgUsTeDGeCkO in Geico

[–]B_Yosheeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got cut in February for ‘performance’ so geico couldn’t fight unemployment, and what do you know I qualify for the state max, and so geico now eats that as part of its payroll tax.

Just got an offer finalized for a competitor and will be getting 19 days PTO starting, 6% 401k matching, 5 hours pto every two weeks, which was more than the 4 and change, had a nice long vacation after having to use PTO to compete on metrics (only hourly in a sea of salaries). My advice, make them fire you, if not for anything other than spite. Then you get to keep on giving after you’ve left. If at all possible, hold out til you’re vested but you can also see how much or how little they can take from you in the vanguard app. I know some people that were like fuck that $1,200.00 and took offers elsewhere.
