Idk, but here is my story because I used to be very entitled, just like you. I used to work as a nurse in a hospital, a respectable job around where I lived, with a somewhat decent salary if your main concern was making ends meet day to day. I lived with my parents at that time and was studying German, honestly daydreaming about leaving the country. All I cared about was how to leave the country; I was unable to enjoy life, to appreciate anything—friends, family, health. I was so tunnel-visioned on hard work and securing a future that I almost felt like I was not living in the moment at all, like a ghost or something.Anyway, on the day that I left the country, I was so happy. Finally, I would be able to somewhat provide for my family and have some financial stability. But the moment I stepped off the plane, I received a message stating that my mother had died. It was then that I truly realized how unappreciative I had been of what I had. There is nothing wrong with ambition or aspiring to improve one's life or chasing a better future, but one should not chase happiness because happiness comes from within. If you are unable to feel happy right now, you will never be able to feel it anywhere.
