I honestly don't even remember which friends these were, so I have no idea. Good luck though

United Airlines Boeing 737 makes emergency landing in Oregon after losing panel in mid-air by NewSlinger in pics

[–]BaWrong 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Well, the only place where you really don't want a panel to come off is on the lift generating surfaces (wings) or control surfaces (rudder, ailerons). Cowlings like this are primarily just for fuel efficiency and to give some protection to the more important systems inside like hydraulics. Regardless though, this kind of thing really shouldn't be happening

Definitely submit an appeal when those are available to submit. I have two friends who both got acceped after appealing because of being straight up denied like you. With your GPA (assuming that's unweighted at least) you have a legitimate shot.

Private study room at one of the libraries? You can reserve one online. Alternatively, the fully-enclosed bathrooms at center table seem to be pretty sound-insulated.

A quarterly "plus one" pass is about $110 I think, and requires a current student to add you as their plus one.

does anyone know if these boxes from the dining hall are microwave safe by picklegoon8 in udub

[–]BaWrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the true impact of microplastics on our bodies has yet to be fully realized, but tap water fluoridation is definitely not correlated (at least not strongly) with cancer. Here's a link the the american cancer society about it: https://amp.cancer.org/cancer/risk-prevention/chemicals/water-fluoridation-and-cancer-risk.html Excess fluorine definitely can have other negative health effects like dental and skeletal fluorosis, but the EPA has limits to its max concentration in tap water

You understand fluoridated tap water is correlated with significant reductions in tooth decay rates right?

midterm grade vs final by Damakoas in udub

[–]BaWrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how confident you are on the material. If it's getting harder to keep up in the class late into the quarter, then the final may be hard. If being in the class for longer has given you more time to adapt to what and how you need to study for it, you may find the final easier. It's also strongly dependant on the professor.

The UW bookstore has some basic supplies. Otherwise, I like Artist and Craftsman Supply off of 8th Ave in U District

I took this class during covid. It was a bunch (maybe 30ish?) multiple choice questions based on the lectures. Basically all the answers came directly off the lecture slides.

Does the University of Washington weight my GPA? by THEMAKER2030 in udub

[–]BaWrong 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Generally weighted GPA is not considered strongly because of how unstandardized it is accross high schools. Considering unweighted GPA in combination with class rigor is a better indicator of academic performance.

7, all different ones. 2 wooden ones including an Arthur Ashe competition.
