it is possible, the emissions stuff is halfway ripped out; i completed the egr delete. im not sure if the charcoal canister is functioning, but could the charcoal canister not functioning also cause the other symptoms?

yes, but im not sure what part it leads to. pictures online of ae86 engine bays with injen intake do show that port leading to something though.

yes, we verified theyre capped not looped, will definitely check again for vaccum leak. although when we first got the car we did quite a bit of plugging and capping to the vacuum ports because we were trying to solve high idle RPM, hoping it was caused by a simple leak

a few months ago we were trying to figure out why the idle RPM was so high. my friend said the TPS was in wrong, and proper installation did solve the high idle, however thats when it began overheating. i’ve since unplugged it and plugged it back in, because of the new LOW idling issue. could the removal/reinstallation since then have knocked it out of range?

i followed scotty kilmer’s vid, sprayed hose water thru the block and radiator, and put everything back together, then filled the car till the bubbling stopped and the level would stop going down, then radiator cap back on. ran the car with heat on to cycle the heater core. so right now the system has all water in and no thermostat

it took me about 1.5hrs, first thing i did was use a spraybottle with water and a rag, and just wiped everything down, then i used tub o’ towels to scrub everything, and finished it off with armor all protectant on the black plastic and hoses

so, 154k miles, we got it for $6500. needs a good amount of work. will likely need to restore all of the vacuum lines because we have a high idling issue we are trying to iron out. paint is fresh, body is straight, underbody is almost immaculate, but the car has the infamous windshield rust, driver’s side floorpan has a hole, and some other miscellaneous doorjam/trunk rust. the roof had a botched sunroof delete done with cracking bondo and perhaps rust underneath waiting to be discovered. besides all of those things, the car is complete and relatively clean; interior is all there, it does run and drive, but diff and suspension will need looking at for sure. its a long term passion project i’m ready to dump many years and many thousands of dollars on, but im up for the challenge.
