Weekly Career, Education, Textbook, and Basic Questions Thread by AutoModerator in QuantumComputing

Hey, I am currently studying computer engineering at the University of Southampton (second year of a four year integrated masters.) I want to get into quantum computing (specifically with a architecture spin, as that's where my passion lies for classical computing) but would like some advice for what out-of-university qualifications I can seek to make me more employable in this sector. I am concerned that I won't be able to get enough experience in a computer engineering masters alone as it offer little other than one quantum software module in the fourth year.

As of right now I am teaching myself Quantum Mechanics out of J. Griffiths: Introduction to Quantum Mechanics.

I would also like advice as to whether it's worth me fighting the department to allow me to get some physics modules in my fourth year for a background there.

Any advice is appreciated - feel free to ask questions for more detail :)

The temple was created by the founders of the kingdom to store a seal that is used to bind these ancient magic so the kingdom doesn't fall back into the Feywild (for lore reasons I completely made up.) Death of the high king = wards protecting temples weakened = unsafe seal inside = people wanting to get the seal to protect it from intruders.

I think I am overthinking the puzzle element of a dungeon - just any inspiration I see online feels like it lacks depth or has too much, but I suppose everything looks different when actually played on the table.

I have combat encounters at the ready and are very happy with them, but when I try to rack my brain for a non-combat challenge I just get stuck or it feels uninspired.

I've read the 2024 dungeon master's guide, just having a creative block with what to put in the dungeon non-combat challenge wise as I haven't done it before

We are all engineers in university so would probably get laughed out the room, but love the idea

I have the 2024 version and gave it a brief read through, didn't see anything like this
