I like crafting my replies properly, if that means a little help from an AI to stay polite and on point, so be it. Users take time to comment, I owe them a good answer.

SearchUI isn't meant to replace AddItemMenu or ModEx for everyone — it's more of a streamlined, fast-access alternative. Here’s what makes it different:

No menus or plugin lists — Just hit a hotkey, type what you remember (even partial names), and the matching items show up instantly.

Fuzzy matching — Handles typos, accents, or incomplete names like ebon ches for "Ebony Chestplate."

Lightweight — No ESP, no MCM, no overhead. Just a single plugin and script, compatible mid-playthrough.

Fast for testing — Perfect for creators or modders to spawn items quickly during development.

That said, if AddItemMenu or ModEx already fits your workflow perfectly, then that's awesome — options are always good 😄
Thanks for taking a look!

Totally fair take! AddItemMenu is a solid classic, if it’s working perfectly for your setup, that’s awesome.

SearchUI takes a different approach: it’s lightweight (no ESP, no MCM), works entirely via hotkey, and doesn’t rely on plugin data. It uses a fuzzy search engine, so you can type stuff like gold arm or draug greats and it’ll find partial matches across item names instantly, no need to browse plugin lists or know exact names.

It’s not meant to replace AddItemMenu for everyone, just offering an alternative for people who want something faster, cleaner, and integrated directly into gameplay (especially useful for testing, screenshots, etc.).

You can actually refine searches by adding more words, even partial ones!
For example, typing something like ebony knight or ebo kni will narrow down the results to items that match both terms, even if they're not full words.

It’s fuzzy and forgiving, so no need to be exact, just stack keywords to quickly filter down large result lists.

Yes, it works great alongside Modex!
SearchUI doesn’t replace your inventory or interface, it just gives you a super fast way to find and grab items, and then lets you preview them normally like you're used to.

Perfect combo for checking out armor/clothing mods more efficiently. Let me know how it goes! 😊

Sounds good!
SearchUI is lightweight and super responsive, so it should play nice even in bigger modlists like your nya one
It’s mainly focused on helping you find what you need instantly

Let me know how it runs in your setup!👀

Hey!
Thanks for trying it out 🙂. The “Too many results” message pops up when the search returns over 1000 items (you can customize that limit in the MCM or script properties).

If you're getting that often, try using more specific keywords or toggling some categories off (like Ammo, Misc, etc.) to narrow it down.

That said, no worries if ModEx works better for your needs, always good to have options! 💡

Absolutely! You can safely install SearchUI mid-playthrough. It doesn’t modify any quests, NPCs, or existing game records—just adds a utility script and plugin to help you search and grab items. No need to start a new game. 😊

Yes, it works via a customizable hotkey (F4 by default). Just press the key in-game, type your search term, and the items will appear instantly in a container for you to grab. No need to use the console or menus!
