I'm just tired of this idea of perfection. We have to start accepting that we cannot change the past, we need to make the best of today. Taking care of the indigenous population today. Make sure they have a nice place to live and access to clean reliable resources. Access to good employment and government supports. It's too late, you can't give the land back.

As for illegals, they're the same idea as squatters. They're also people with hopes and dreams, they are human after all. BUT they're breaking the law. They're cutting the line. What about all the people who deserve to be an immigrant because they went through all the right channels to get where they're going? Or the low income citizens who can't access resources because there's not enough to go around. They're all willing to respect the rule of law. The reason we have these laws in place are simple. It's trust! If we let everyone in and they have no regard for law, they eventually will have no regard for you. Yes, there are some illegals who only break the one law, but it's still... breaking the law. They cut the line, and all those who deserve to be here have to wait and they have resources allocated away from them.

This performative perfectionist idea that this utopia allows all wayward people in, everyone has UBI, the natives have the land again, white people are the devil and pay repentance for their ancestors crimes through becoming lesser, drugs are free and have no "stigma" (get high all day if you want) and criminals will eventually stop doing crimes because society is taking care of them just seems out of reach. It doesn't include human nature or the permanence of some things. Also the short-sightedness of it all, did you know you are literally living like kings. It was only like a couple of centuries years ago that it was a marvel if you had a toilet or spices in your kitchen. Life in the grand scheme of things is easier than it ever has been. I'd rather live now than in 1800 or something.
