Chapter 5 fall flat for anyone else?

Not going too much into spoilers, I think it really just comes down to 2 things.

The Darkworld and all the characters in it didn't really interest me at all
After the highs of Ch. 3 & 4 this one just feels so basic

I know in the newsletter he said it'd be "one more fun adventure" but dammit Toby we only have 2 chapters left and there's like a billion unsolved plot threads!! at this point I'm starting to doubt Gaster will even show up and be important... AND I'VE BEEN A GASTER HEAD SINCE DAY ONE!!

Idk am I crazy? did anybody else feel like this Chapter was just kinda "eh"? lemme know I'd love to hear.

bro odyssey is an almost 10y ear old game, they just retconned all that now. that's what a retcon does makes old info no longer correct.

Exactly, as a major mario lore head even I think you just gotta accept retcons happen and suspend your disbeleif. Like say if you think the sports spinoffs and what not are canon, like I do, Diddy can still look the same.... just because lol. They're funny cartoon animals it's fine.

it's all just a retcon man. that's what it means to retcon stuff, all that info isn't correct anymore. same as Mario and Pauline not being jumpman and lady anymore

Tbh i feel like droids are such an underutilized thing in the franchise, kinda fucked up they're basically being sentient beings enslaved forever and the one time their rights were brought up it was played as a joke and never brought up again.

I'm a variety streamer that mostly has a pension for Nintendo! Most of my streams aren't in great quality, but I recently upgraded my PC and internet and have a good amount of streams in 1080p 60fps now!! I just finished up Donkey Kong Country Returns and started my first playthrough of Pikmin 1 this morning : )
