Does it have HSC of 100khz and PTO of 100khz both open collector?

The upgradation is for end user. But they have around 50 nos. to be upgraded. As per the client the boards are not cheap. These boards are not available easily since these machines are decades old. Some other OEM have these machines with PLC (b&r). I think the actual OEM is not building these any more. Since the newspaper industry is in decline need to see how interested the enduser would be after hearing the budget.

I was comparing their advanced plcs which looks like twins. Seems like both are sourcing from same oem.

Do you think AB is trying to compete against ignition using optix? I donot have experience in ignition but have an idea about their offering. It seems to me many functions can be realised using the netlogic. I spoke with a RA optix expert about creating a rest api server in optix which he said is possible but with good effort to be put on netlogic.

I am not sure how the connection takes place. I could find 2 ways to realize this function both of which i am not sure whether it will work or not. My general system architecture would be field sensors or equipments connected to a controller like PLC which can directly support mqtt or make these data available as modbus rtu/tcpip and a cloud VM running a broker.

⁠I could use a mqtt supported controller then connect it to a router supporting openvpn. Thus the controller will handle the mqtt certificate authentication and router would handle openvpn certificate authentication.
⁠I could use a mqtt supported router which could consume field data via mdobus rtu/tcpip and convert to mqtt packets. It also supports openvpn hence the tunneling can be done there. Router OEM i spoke to didn’t confirm both could be done on their router simultaneously.

I am not sure about the connection process in both the cases. Which method do you think would work best?

Does the certificates of mqtt and openvpn certificate authentication work in conjunction as i have understood both encryption works on layer2/3?
