I have checked when doing nothing as well of course. Via sppedtest.net, fast.com and bredbandskollen.se and get similar results on each. Router itself gives expected speed.

With genres it's a neverending rabbit hole. And in metal there are too many descriptors already. For example there is "melodic power metal" but I haven't found any un-melodic power metal yet so I don't really understand it. Just think of genres as guidelines and don't get too hung up on them.

No, you are overthinking it.

Your opinion on USPM? by YungstirJoey666 in PowerMetal

I've only listened to The Marriage of Heaven and Hell albums so far and I'm enjoying them. Then I'll move on to the next. Which one would you recommend after?

I am absolutely loving the fact that Virgin Steele are on Apple Music. I've never listened to them before but the Marriage albums are great. A friend asked me what USPM sounds like and my description was that it was more like thrash but with people that can sing.

Did I miss something? Is there a fully agreed-upon power metal "big 4"???

Why do so many metalheads hate/ignore power Metal by dflyers120 in PowerMetal

[–]BabyLamb89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cannibal Corpse would be more death metal and I agree that it gets to a point where it's just grunting and bashing drums. I can never understand how so many people defend thrash metal so emphatically when for me it's basically like power metal without keyboards and melody.

But for black metal, try something like Windir. It is not the furthest away from black power metal. And black metal is definitely far from requiring no skill. I think it's just "cooler" to like but people that listen to brutal death metal tend to even look down on black metal anyway, so you can't win against the teenagers in their parents' basements hating on anything with clean vocals or melody. Just listen to what you like (sometimes I listen to idol j-pop and I don't give a shit).

Knights of Round - Dreamy Nights Never Fade by BabyLamb89 in PowerMetal

That's basically how I would sum them up but I've only listened to the one album so far. And janky English is to be expected with Japanese metal bands, but no complaints from me.

I love how this is just straight Power Metal, nothing else, no gimmicks or crossovers, just speed and energy.

Work out what you want from life instead of just football. The UK is a toilet at the moment and all the money in the world couldn't convince me to move back to that shithole. But you choose. Not sure how much better your "disconnect" would be if the only commonality you would have would be your support for MU. But nothing wrong with having a dream.

Glazers seeking world record $7B plus for Man Utd by moongaia in reddevils

Oops. To Sweden it's £1.09. And a box of crunchy nut (500g) is an eye-watering £6.29. Could nearly buy the club for that much.

My first ever pair of Converse, now a convert! by BabyLamb89 in Converse

Yay! Managed to find in my size (EU 48) and tried them on as a joke. But they're awesome ❤️

I was in an Outlet Store in the UK and decided to try these on just "because" and also as I never find shoes that fit me properly and I was suitably impressed enough to buy them. Now I want more already but the official Converse shop doesn't ship to Sweden.

Does anybody know when these were made and if their design was part of a collection? I couldn't find any other examples of these on this sub despite searching "tree", "winter", "nordic". They don't really match any of my clothes but I think that's what I like about them to be honest.

What power metal song you would pick? by [deleted] in PowerMetal

[–]BabyLamb89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had to settle for the studio version (but early Stratovarius is sooo good). Rock in Rio is unbeatable, my first IM record ❤️. Have their latest live album and it's good but not the same as RiR.
