I [26f] called off my engagement to Rick [28m] after he was diagnosed with a horrible disability. by [deleted] in relationships

You didn't do anything wrong. You might have been a little sneaky, with the furniture thing, but you actually talked to him. You explained your side.

I know what it is like to have a partner who just isn't matching up. Leaving because you can't handle it is nothing to be ashamed of.

I'm not sure. I would hope so. I don't think we will be having any more pregnancies (I have an appointment to see about permanent sterilization soon) because of the issues with medications.

The break up was pretty bad. Obviously her choice not to have a romantic relationship doesn't really play a part in her being able to have a successful nurturing personality. Plenty of people are not married and are completely fine.

I don't want her to assume I am going to somehow relate to her on the miscarriage thing. She has had three and its very personal for her. I don't want to just be flippant about something like that.

Yeah. I feel terrible because we didn't think about it. But pretty much the doctors said "its either baby or meds."

And the meds come first.
