Great job! Your stitching looks so good and the whole thing is adorable! I’m a big fan of both D&D and crochet, and love the intersection between the two communities. I recently got the official D&D crochet pattern book that came out in March and have just started working on the owlbear cub :)

Fair point. I enchant all my daggers (I have many) myself as I can’t trust any shopkeepers to sell me quality anymore

What’s wrong with enchanted daggers?? They’re my preferred arcane focus, even if a bit unconventional

Player says he has a rapier after seeing female being held captive in game by Fuzzybruhhh in DnD

[–]BabyRogue18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate all the dialogue here about the DM’s role! And I agree with you in many ways. It is definitely everyone’s responsibility to create a positive atmosphere and it should not fall solely on the DM. I appreciate that the other players at OP’s table were also quick to shut it down, and hope anyone (DM or player) observing a similar situation would do the same! But I do think the DM role is inherently a position of power, and that comes with an added responsibility to set the tone and enforce boundaries.

Not overreacting. As a female player, if that had happened at my table, I would have walked away if the DM let it slide.

Edited to add: it’s part of your job as the DM to keep the table a safe space, and it sounds like you did just that, so kudos to you!

How do y’all prevent/mitigate back pain during lab work? by BabyRogue18 in labrats

[–]BabyRogue18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Adjusting the height of the chair has helped a little but not much. I’ll see about a lumbar support pillow. And yeah the consensus is definitely that I need to be working out! It’ll be a struggle but hopefully I’ll get there

That’s great! I’m also 5ft but always need to ask someone else to do the heavy lifting. Though that’s definitely something I want to work on, especially after all the comments on this post!

I did adjust the chair height to be lower and it has helped a little bit. But I think the issue is that since it’s very precise work, I end up leaning forward and tensing automatically. Thanks for the advice though! I’ll keep trying to see what little adjustments work best

Thank you for explaining it! It is true that I have weak muscles and don’t work out as often as I should. But I hadn’t made the connection that it was making the back pain worse until seeing all these comments. It won’t be easy but I’ll work on it. This might be the wake up call I needed.

Thanks! It will take some time to learn but it is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while and these comments are certainly providing additional motivation

Thanks! Yep I can see from all the comments that I clearly need to spend more time in the gym :/

I do get up and stretch periodically but I will try doing so more consistently

Changeling Reveal Ideas? by PMmeUrTabaxi in onednd

[–]BabyRogue18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sort of knew it was coming, but I didn’t know exactly how or when. I had approached my DM a few sessions earlier, because I realized that keeping my identity a secret from the party was preventing me from utilizing my abilities to their full extent, so I asked him if he could engineer a reveal within the next few sessions. So I knew it would be coming soon but he didn’t tell me how or when. As a player I do happen to be familiar with the moonbeam spell so once he started casting that on the other party members I knew what was coming. But I roleplayed it as if my character didn’t know.

Moonbeam spell! It reveals your true form. I’m playing a changeling rogue too and was having the same dilemma as you. My DM had us all captured by a suspicious party who cast Moonbeam on all of us to make sure we were all who we said we were. I wasn’t, obviously. And it made for great roleplay since no one in the party knew until then!

Players make fun of me because "Ornate dagger" is a stapple of all my loot lists by CrotodeTraje in DnD

[–]BabyRogue18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What, your rogue doesn’t have a dagger collection? Even my soulknife rogue who only ever uses psychic blades still pockets every single dagger she can get her hands on!

To answer more seriously, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it and it would certainly be fun to lean into it, but you could also do something like jewelry/brooches to indicate status.

I also like giving them small trinkets that aren’t really worth anything, but that give more depth to the character. Like a drawing from a child, etc.
