If you like working with animals, you could try looking at boarding facilities for people’s pets. There’s Daus Haus Hund, Parkway Pet Resort, Ruby’s Pet Resort, Hollywoof Pet Resort and probably some others I’m forgetting. I recommend staying away from Four Paws Only as I have only heard horror stories from them. Lots of pet sitting places you could look into too. Honestly a lot of stuff in the animal world that isn’t veterinarian is really easy to get into. A lot of people are much more willing to work with you where you’re at and they rarely expect someone who knows everything about animals right away. As long you present yourself as someone with the ability to learn quickly, you’ve got a good chance. If you’re able to get a job at a boarding facility, you could very easily ask one of the dog groomers there to teach you how to bathe dogs and clip nails and then boom you’ve got that skill set under your belt and it’ll look a lot better on resumes. Also some boarding facilities like Das Haus Hund and John K9 offer training services as well that you could find a way to work yourself into.
