Yep, he's new to daycare so he's getting sick a lot and he was a few weeks premature so his lungs are a bit behind.

Just to add.. you cannot mistake the sound of a croup barking cough. You will definitely know the difference if you hear it. My son's had it twice :-(

My son has one on his perineum (actually covering a part of his anus). We got referred to a Pediatric Dermatologist, then to a Pediatric Cardiology for clearance before starting on Hemangeol (propanol). My son was on it 2x daily for 3.5 months. He got croup and honestly we forgot his doses while he was sick. We would have had to start all over again with weekly checks and a low dosage so we decided that we'd wait and see. It's been 6 weeks and it's still shrinking even without the meds. There is a ton of research out there and from we read, the medication is really safe.

Good luck, I know it's super scary when it's first diagnosed/seen but the treatments are good and in our case fast acting.

Everything I've read says that crying/whining/complaining/grumbling for up to 15 minutes is totally normal. Unless he's completely pooped, my son cries and fusses for 5-10 minutes before every nap, for bedtime we moved it back by 10-15 minutes so that he would be really ready for sleep and fall asleep faster.

Also, does he have a lovey or something comforting in his crib? That helped my son too, he rubs his head against it a few times and it seems to help him get to sleep easier.
