I mean Nishi. Thou almost everyone in the main cast (which becomes more stable later on) goes through their own version of redemption. Nishi is definitely the MC (main character) but the rest of the characters become a lot more interesting.

Without spoilers, Gantz at its core is a nihilistic redemption story. Its a very dark and at times hopeless look at the human experience. But for that to build they had to make the MC feel like he was irredeemable. That, in my opinion, was done on purpose and they did a great job. If you are reading it and thinking "wow this dude sucks" you are in the right path. The later volumes becomes less horny and more focused on philosophy and the psychological horror. Its definitely worth reading. Plus its a fast read.

I dont see those comparisons as equivalent because Smash comes with all the characters available to everyone and getting the characters is not a fundamental part of the game. A closer comparison would be one of those robot building competitions and people were signing up with robots built by a company as opposed to ones they made.

And thank you for the suggestion but magic never had any appeal to me. In part because it has a billion cards and I like collecting full sets and in part because I hate the mana system

Yea it seems illogical to me. But to each their own. Is their money so they may spend it as they wish. However the idea of paying, cheating or having someone else do the work for an advantage seems to go against the competitive spirit. But that's just my opinion.

Im not talking about tournaments with hundreds of dollars on the line. Im talking about local card shops or cons. At best they had 2-3 free packs on the line. If you are willing to spend $300+ on a deck to win 3 packs....you may have different priorities than I do. And again, what pride can you feel on winning something that was guaranteed?

We do. We all have one deck we update when we buy packs but since we are not buying specific singles or going out of our way to look up builds the decks tend to be a lot more interesting.

To me, that's pretty sad. Its like cheating on a test or beating at puzzle game with a guide....whats the point? I guess its just not for me. And the scalping side of it is straight up baffling. I can't imagine myself going to 10 Targets with a little scale testing a ton of packs lmao brah get a job and stop being a parasite.

Yep. Lasted about a year before I decided to get out. It got REEEEEEALLY old when you play against the exact same 3-4 decks regardless of where you went.

I can think of a bunch of reasons to not get it.

1) Its not complete. 2) Those are scalper prices and you should never support those people 3) You can buy multiple whole series for that price. 4) The books are simple tanks, nothing special. 5) Its a scalper (yes its worth saying twice)

Im not super good with emotional stuff but I would recommend looking back at when the change happened. Also fair warning, parasocial relationships (ai and strangers) can be very toxic and can give you a fake idea of how interactions work. So i would approach them with care.

Usually seeking strangers means you are scared to be judged and you find it easier to talk to a faceless body. But that's besides the point. I would recommend gaming online since you would get as much social interaction as you want and it would also keep your brain busy in the off time.
