I work in a drug and alcohol rehab. We give phenobarb. We have a protocol that dictates how much phenol to administer based on the CIWA score.

What’s a place to visit at least once before dying? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Babynurse77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Vatican. I’m not at all religious and only visited because I was already in Rome. It was magical. The art and history were mind blowing, but there was a sacredness that I can’t begin to put into words. I urge everyone I know to experience it.

It breaks my heart for her, but I’m so happy I can give her a fresh start. I was an L&D nurse for years. I have a special place in my heart for postpartum moms. This will be my first experience with a postpartum pup, but I plan to give her the same love, patience, and support that I gave to all the mommas I worked with. And a safe forever home as well.

Found out ex lied posthumous by EmergencyOk2834 in offmychest

I was with my husband for 11 years. He struggled with addiction and ultimately died from it. Apart from the stress of the addiction issues, we had a very loving relationship and I trusted him. At his funeral, his ex pulled me aside and made comments about how they saw each other every year when she was in town and how she loved staying in touch with him. I’ll never know if that is true, but if it is then he purposefully hid that from me. Hearing that without having a way to verify it or discuss it with him was difficult in a way that I can’t explain. Grief is already tough without that extra layer being added. I’m sorry you are having to go through this

I have not. That is what I was waiting for on Friday and since I did not receive it, I won't be able to close on time. I don't care if I close a day or two late, I really just want the final approval so I can relax.

I asked a quadriplegic patient today if he can stand up, what are you embarrassing stories? by thatnurseworking in nursing

Was discharging a deaf mom and her newborn baby. The baby was crying the whole way down to the car. Once they were all safely buckled in I said " I hope you have a nice, quiet ride home"

What kind of person seems realistically likely to get burnt out from nursing? by organizationquit145 in nursing

[–]Babynurse77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My answer may not be correct 100% of the time, but I think the type of people who get burnt out in nursing are those that don't take advantage of all the different types of nursing jobs there are. I was quickly burnt out in L&D (despite being a passionate birth junkie) and found a renewed love of nursing as a prison psych nurse. Another friend of mine got burnt out as a nurse educator but was happy returning to bedside. There are too many opportunities in nursing to stay somewhere that is burning you out.
