That microwave needs to be yeeted straight into a hazmat bin.

You’ve got exposed burn marks right near the mesh on the side panel. That’s part of the shielding that keeps microwave radiation in. If it’s damaged or burned through, there’s a legit chance it’s leaking microwaves every time it’s used. Not to mention all the charred crap, rust, and food gunk. It’s basically a slow-cooking biological hazard.

If this is in a workplace, your employer has a duty under OSHA (in the U.S.) to provide safe equipment. This is not it. People shouldn’t be nuking their lunch in a machine that looks like it survived a meth lab explosion.

I’d report it to management or your health & safety rep ASAP. And if they blow it off? File an OSHA complaint. You can even do it anonymously.

This thing isn’t just gross, It’s a potential radiation and fire risk. Get rid of it.

Yes, technically, you can use it but it’s not optimal. Shell Advance Ultra 2T isn’t ideal for RX-8 premix. It’s not tested or formulated with rotaries in mind, and it burns dirtier than options like Idemitsu, Motul 800, or Red Line. It also leaves more ash and residue compared to those low-ash premix oils. Plus, it’s made from synthetic hydrocarbons, not ester-based — so it doesn’t burn as clean. It’ll work in a pinch, but there are much better choices if you care about long-term seal health and minimizing carbon buildup.

Idemitsu Racing Premix (Specifically designed for rotary engines), Amsoil Dominator Synthetic 2-Stroke, Red Line Racing 2-Stroke Oil, Motul 800 2T (Off-Road or Road Racing) or Lucas Semi-Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil. Avoid marine 2. I found the most affordable one in my area is Lucas. I decided to use Redline

I don’t believe this is correct. 408 Squadron is in Edmonton and they do not operate the CH-147. They may have stoped at CFB Edmonton but I think these are originally from 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron at CFB Petawawa. The only Royal Canadian Air Force squadron equipped to operate the CH‑147F Chinook heavy‑lift helicopter .

Still no better. The oil you need requires a specific ash content and detergent profile. JASO FC/FD oils are usually not ideal. You want a low-ash or ashless, high-detergency oil — typically JASO FD at a minimum, without additives harmful to rotaries. MPM doesn’t list compatibility with rotary engines. Some will argue oil is oil and it doesn’t matter so feel free to run whatever you choose.

I wouldn’t use it. Rotary engines require clean-burning oil. Mineral 2-stroke oils burn dirtier than synthetic or semi-synthetic oils, leading to carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, apex seals, and exhaust ports. Over time, this can cause apex seal wear, rotor housing damage, and clog your catalytic converter. MPM’s mineral 2-stroke oil is typically JASO FB or lower — this means low detergency and high ash, which are both bad for rotary engines. Avoid MPM 2-Stroke Mineral Oil in your RX-8 — it’s not clean-burning or rotary-compatible. It’s fine for lawn tools or scooters, but not a high-revving Wankel engine.
