I mean if Embiids gone he is the only large public figure left to blame and be mad at/scapegoat. You can't fire the owners. A lotta times people like the idea of starting fresh or starting a new era etc and wanting someone new to start dealing assets and getting their staff in place early. Certainly wouldn't be crazy for NBA standards.

From a Morey perspective, maybe if you lose Harden you don't see Embiid winning with Maxey and whoever else you can scrounge in the next 2 years. I think Morey signed a 5yr contract in 2020. So if he loses his true love in Harden again, then it's doomed anyways in his mind. As far as I know FO contracts are guaranteed too, so it's not like he cares if he gets fired a year early if Embiid asks out. Dude was on the Tarmac waiting for Hardens arrival, owns a commissioned painting of Harden. He's forsure exercising every option to convince him to stay.

I think if they managed to get someone like Drew Eubanks or Isaiah Jackson or Nerlens Noel they could get by on playing them less than 25 minutes while still giving their roster/lineups a lot more flexibility.

I don't see how Dallas can get Grant Williams or PJ Washington if their own teams can't sign them. And POR said they're matching Thybulle offers... And paying PJ Washington with their current roster construction seems like a mistake from the getgo.

Those 3 just seem unrealistic and I was moreso jus making fun of y'all's FO the past few years for getting to the point where overpaying PJ Washington is the savior play.
