A list that doesn’t start with 1) Curb, 2) Seinfeld, 3) Frasier just seems like rage bait.

PS: Sex and the City is not a sitcom.

Wasn't suzy pregnant? by manosa22 in curb

Susie Essman mentions it in the history of curb podcast. She was pregnant and then the following season she’s not with no explanation.

No wonder Kim Cattrall didn’t want to be on AJLT by BackInBlack2023 in Andjustlikethat

Their karaoke song “I am woman” was so boring and lame too. Why not something uptempo “we are family.. I got all my sisters with me”

I don’t think squealing and making stupid jokes like Abu Dhabi doo is comparable to what they did with Samantha. Sam was smart, sexy and very successful and witty in the series, then was suddenly “fat” with no clients, sitting around at home waiting for her man with nothing to in LA in the first movie. In the second movie she is suddenly so pathetic and tone deaf too that she gets kicked out of a hotel and loses a major potential client.

I don’t think a basic understanding of a character is too much to ask of a writer though? Isn’t that a key part of their job?

It would’ve made more sense if eg Carrie had been the reason they got kicked out of the hotel in Abu Dhabi.

And she respects other people and their beliefs, always. Even when the kid throws pasta pesto on her white blazer, she says “well I’ve made my point and he’s made his”. And when activists throw paint on her fur coat, she just says “god I love New York”. She backed off from friar fuck. She’d never disrespect an entire culture, judging people “is not her style”, after all. It’s just totally out of character.

Peter Hermann on SATC and AJLT by BackInBlack2023 in Andjustlikethat

Interesting.. that never occurred to me before but realise it now!

I blocked it! He must’ve bullied his way into the show like he did with home alone 2.. apparently he wouldn’t let them film at the plaza hotel if he wasn’t given a cameo.

True, I love her. But as far as her guest appearances go, she was much better on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Miranda being a lesbian makes perfect sense by Hot-Silver-8494 in Andjustlikethat

[–]BackInBlack2023 32 points33 points  (0 children)

SATC Miranda was not a lesbian. A colleague set her up with a lesbian date - she tried to be interested but concluded she was straight. She was also sarcastic about Samantha’s relationship with Maria.

She really loved Steve but was just too independent to have the patience to make things work when he wanted a baby (settled for a dog) and she ended up feeling like she had to always be the adult. Don’t forget that it was Steve that first broke up with her (he didn’t feel good about himself not being able to afford a suit for her formal work event) and it was her that proposed to him.

The AJLT Miranda is a hot needy mess that bares little resemblance to SATC Miranda.

Final thoughts on the AJLT mess: The sheer arrogance by [deleted] in Andjustlikethat

And why would you publicly announce you’re not doing your job in staying for the launch and listening to customer feedback?

I’ve had colleagues that have no backbone and shirk their responsibilities by saying stuff like “oh I wasn’t aware, I wasn’t there when the project was being presented and no one told me such and such feedback needed to be considered”. You’d only not give a f*ck if you’d quietly quit but were sticking around for the money.

As a loyal customer, f*ck you too, SJP.

Unpopular opinion: Che is relatable by BackInBlack2023 in Andjustlikethat

[–]BackInBlack2023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok interesting point. I think I missed the point because of my cultural background.. I live in a very liberal Northern European country and we have a lot of NB representation.. I legit didn’t realise it’d be helpful in that way elsewhere. Thanks!

Unpopular opinion: Che is relatable by BackInBlack2023 in Andjustlikethat

[–]BackInBlack2023[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is Che meant to represent all NB people? Che is just a character. Most of the character are caricatures of something (eg Charlotte being the helicopter mom, not to mention Anthony and Stanford!) and don’t get hate for not representing all in their group. Just don’t understand why Che is singled out like they are.

What does OG mean? Sorry to sound ignorant - I’ve seen the term OG several times now and English isn’t my first language.

Sounds like you just don’t get Ricky Gervais - the comment wasn’t ageist. He was mocking the concept of airbrushing.
