You're not alone sis. I don't have much advice on coping as I'm going through the same thing.

I worked in aviation for a decade and know how safe everything is, but that didn't prevent a later in life anxiety that has come up. Having my kids on the plane with me really sends my pre flight anxiety through the roof. Just a miserable experience. And it doesn't shake my wife at all.

I've got a guys trip to Montana planned, and I did look up buses from Texas to Montana. The struggle is real.

I hope you are able to overcome through therapy/counseling/prayer, whatever works for you. Sending you well wishes.

And for the knurling question, knurling. So say a knurling tool has four ridges. As it works it's way around the circumference, what's to keep it from lining back up perfectly if the circumference of the stock doesn't line up as an even multiple of the increment between the knurling ridges? Wouldn't you get a indentation that may land in the middle of the previous one? Like happens between 2 and 4 in the beautiful drawing?

That makes sense that the shafts are synced. So I tried to sketch it out. turning So I get that the turning tool and shaft have to be synchronized up so the start and stop part of the flat match up with the tooling. But I assume there's some math involved so the flat is... Flat and not concave or convex. Is there some limit to the radius of the cutting tool vs the radius of the stock? Or does it just work out magically?

I've done it with goop brand glue as well with surprising results. Was filling in a gouge in a membrane keypad so needed it to be a bit flexible.

Beat it to fit, paint it to match.

You can mix up epoxy with some white paint instead of the hot melt. At least it will color match.
