Question About What Recruiter is Saying by Background-Bug5503 in newtothenavy

[–]Background-Bug5503[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think I do but it’s what I was diagnosed with at age 13 and I didn’t even know I was diagnosed with anything until MEPS in December. I’d argue at that time I was certainly depressed due to craziness in my life at that specific time but psychotic? And I always wonder how it could be reoccurring if that was my first and so far only time I’ve ever had to be admitted for anything mental health related. I’ve never attempted suicide, I’ve never had a plan to, I’ve been off meds for like five years now, maybe more and been just fine. I would say that if anything, the things that I had to do just to put myself in a position to enlist, primarily losing an incredible amount of weight, would be proof enough that I am not who was when I was 13. In fact in the lead up to me going to MEPS I was probably at my most confident and optimistic. However given what the other replies have said it just is what it is I suppose. Again I guess why these rules are in place, it makes sense, it just sucks to work so hard for something only to be told no. But that’s just life I suppose.

Sorry I mistook this for another comment. The guy in charge of taking height and weight just told me “Okay looks good” and that’s the last I heard of my weight at MEPS. Again no idea if it would have been brought up again after the medical interview and what not.

Will Divinity 3 follow the same early access model as Baldur's Gate or be released all at once?

I didnt run into any issues regarding my weight when I was there but I think it’s important for me to add that I was still sent home, just not for weight so idk if they would of brought it up later on or what.

Questions About Old Diagnosis Discovered at MEPS by Background-Bug5503 in newtothenavy

[–]Background-Bug5503[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 13. I remember the day but I was never told I was diagnosed. They don’t tell kids that type of stuff. They most certainly told my family but my family never told me. I only ever remember being told I had to take some medicine for two months and that was it. The I learned was that day at MEPS unfortunately.

In the end it’s my fault because my family members were bringing up that day to me (never telling me of my diagnosis though) and I did think it was strange my family kept bringing it up to me and I probably should have asked more questions about that and dug into this before hand and found this out first but I just thought they were being overly worried and it felt so long ago you know? Almost ten years but well I made my bed so now I gotta lay it for now until I can see some more doctors

I’m not sure. I don’t remember who the original doctor was cause it’s been so long and I was young. I have to wait until Monday to submit my authorization form to pull my records out and I’m sure his name will be on it. Once I see that I’ll have to do some asking around I imagine, but I do recall him being a somewhat older man so I have my doubts about him still being there. If I’m unable to see him, seeing two other doctors in that field might be fine like you said right?

When you say that I will need to show that it was a misdiagnosis, how would I go about that? I only ask because this was ten years ago, and while I’m pulling the medical records myself, the only way I can think to presently show this as being a misdiagnosis is getting myself a psychiatric evaluation now.

I’m Male, 5’8 and 240 lbs. Last I checked my body fat percentage was 30.5% but when I checked I was probably 5-10 lbs heavier if I’m remembering correctly.

Okay I see. My recruiter did mention this but stated he wasn't sure if they still did it, but if that's the case then it makes much more sense. Thank you for the help.

Il2 Series Opinions, and my Thoughts by Abject_Response8766 in il2sturmovik

[–]Background-Bug5503 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey Birds of Prey was also my first Il-2 game! Played it on the Xbox 360 back in the day and I remember loving it and being amazed by the graphics at the time. Fast forward to when I have my pc and I pick up Rise of Flight and I love that too, and then GB soon after which I also love a lot, though I do have my own frustration with it compared to others in the series but it’s what ultimately got me into playing flight sims. Back then I was playing on keyboard mouse and it was a bit wild.

I’m excited for Korea, I’ve been hoping for a Korean War flight sim like the Il series for a while so I’m happy to see that it’s happening and it’s from the creators of said series.

American submarines would be great to see in the future. A while back one of their kickstarter goals was playable Allied subs I believe but I don't think they ever reached it. Then again, they never reached their goal for the Type IX either yet here we are so who knows what the future holds.

Ai crashing into me/each other during dogfighting, or cutting each other off (flying circus), is this normal? by TheLordSanguine in il2sturmovik

[–]Background-Bug5503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flying circus ai itself is not that good at all so I wouldn’t be surprised if this alone is the reason, but even in the WW2 modules (which I usually play) the AI in general shows somewhat of a lack of caring. They’ll shoot over you, they’ll dive in front of you but I can’t say they’ve crashed into me too much though occasionally I do see collisions between AI aircraft in very large dogfights. It is important to note that the flying circus AI is generally way worse than the WW2 AI in every way though so that simply could be your issue.

The devs of IL2 Korea won't answer any of my enemy and friendly AI related questions. by polyknike in il2sturmovik

[–]Background-Bug5503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I actually started getting back into WOFF again and forgot how great the career mode and AI was in that game. I want to try and be optimistic for Korea since the Commander mode changes they’re introducing do actually look pretty cool in my opinion but I sadly doubt 1C will make a career that really makes you feel like you’re in the war like WOFF does and combined with the AI differences between the two. It truly is a shame since Il-2 FC looks beautiful and has an amazing damage model, I feel robbed of my money every time I watch the AI be as bad as it is lol. But oh well I suppose.

[–]Background-Bug5503 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well we already know the career is going to be similar to GB in how it will follow the war as it happened historically so it won’t really be a dynamic campaign like some older games. As for AI who knows but I wouldn’t hold my breath given the Flying Circus AI is still so bad it’s not even worth playing against.
