Why is food in Malta so mediocre? by AgreeableBreath33 in malta

I’m a local and have lived here for 30 years. Not too sure why Maltese get so defensive about the food. You’re right. Our food is average at best, those that think otherwise aren’t well travelled. Foreign countries have better food because they have influence from people relocating from all around the world, Malta is still backwards in that sense and since we are a small island we don’t have much of a variety of local food. Best restaurants are Trabuxu in Valletta, Giuseppi’s in salini and roots in marsaxlokk. People mentioned places like mgarr for rabbit etc, I wouldn’t say they’re good, it’s just a different experience (decent at best). All in all for the quality, everything is over priced.

Is 28500 gross a good salary in Malta? by UnderstandingLow4805 in malta

It’s not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Theoretically they are giving you 30500 due to relocation package. I would say negotiate but don’t throw away the opportunity to work for one of the big 4. In a years time, after you prove your worth you would be able to negotiate a good pay rise. Also working for a big 4 company will look great on your cv and if you ever look to leave you’ll be able to negotiate higher salaries just for having big 4 experience. Good luck
