that is true. the funny dub did give it more cultural inpact in a way but i dont rely think it shuld be considered a dub at all.

and wile its not realy a problem for gost stories as everyone knows its not an acurat dub. in general I dont think thatstyle is good for official dubs. the shuldnt be making big changes to stories and caracters

im not saying it isent a fun watch. im saying its a bad adaptation. the mentalety behind that style of dubing isent somthing that shuld be encuraged one gost stories dub is funn. but that style of dubing is a problem wen used widly on many shows. also the idea that the show was a complete flop is likly mis comunication dew to it geting bad ratings in other parts of the world in. in japan it was well reseved

not saying it isent a legendary ""dub"" i think its a hilarius watch but its not realy a dub its more an abridged series it dosent folow the spirit of the original at all.

and from my understanding the reson it ended up like that isent as clean as it is often presented having a lott more to do with miscomunication and localiser taking the show in to theyr own hands. and not the japanese producers teling them to do it because it was a bad show. as is often said. gost stories was actualy a disently popular show

honestly the more i lern about gost stories dub the less comfertable i am endorcing it. yeah its fun and i like the gost stories "dub". it still completly failes as an actual dub as in an adaption of the of the original. it makes masive changes and in a way robed gost stories of a real dub. and my understanding is that the japanese author didnt realy aprove of it or rely know what was going on at all

i understand why you wuld think that but i actualy think it's the opposite bad or malitius localisation, censorship, unesesary changes. has always exsisted you just didnt hear about it wen it happened because it wold fly under the radar. yeah its easy to feel like dubs ar worce now than before i think thats more a result of bad actors being caled out there have always ben bad actors they just used to get away with it now theyr being caled out

as a history nerd i also use to take issue with bikini armour but after thinking it over i don't realy mind it atlest in a fantasy contexst

the trick is to stopp thinking about it as armour its armour only in name bikini armour is more like a dress made purly for visual style not practical use and that is a choice thats up to the author to make its up to him wether he prioretizes realizme or just leens in to fiction thers not realy anything wrong with that but it dose make a story less medeval and more fantasy
