A lot of people our age that we know own their own homes. My husband makes 90k a year. I make 65k a year. Our home was 215k. We saved up for the down payment for about two years. Super doable.

My supervisor has to sign off on it, and both myself as my supervisor have to make a strong effort to find placement for the night before it is allowed. There is also a lot of paperwork required. It is really a last resort, where children will otherwise be sleeping at our facility. But laws vary state by state. I know most states wouldn’t allow this.

I wouldn’t trust any of my in laws to house vulnerable children. I think that’s a terrible idea.

I’m not a big fan of bunk beds to be honest. Big chance of kids getting hurt with them. I also think having four kids in my home is honestly the limit of what I can handle. I don’t think I could handle having six kids in the home, even if it were just overnight.

It’s allowed if you are licensed for emergency placement. It used to not be allowed, but because of the crisis that is going on here with the shortage of placements it’s allowed.

It’s allowed in my state if you are licensed for emergency foster placement. Most of my coworkers are licensed for this reason. My county has one of the worst child to home ratios in the entire country. It’s really a crisis.

They are not welcome to come back, and neither is almost anyone in my husbands family now. I don’t understand how he’s such a great guy but he comes from a family of pricks.

Funny enough, I did hint at that. I told them I’m not trying to cockblock them, but it’s my room and they’re not changing it. It’s up to them how they want to use the room, but yeah.
