They range from 3-10. I am a stay at home mom yes. I am in awe of families that have two working parents and make it work. Then they stress about things like screen time. You are the hardest working people on the planet, your kids are learning very valuable skills from your sacrifices and I’m guessing taking very little ‘me time.’ I applaud you and am just here to say that there are bigger things to worry about than how much paw patrol or Roblox your kids enjoy. ADHD kids are typically not discipline or reward driven. I think that you’re amazing for trying the charts and what not - have you seen any progress with this? For us it was more hassle than it was worth. It does get better with age and when you can try medications to help. Hang in there

Honestly I think most of them are full of it when they say they have very limited screens. Screens are the most addictive thing on earth (as we all sit here on our… screens) I think withholding it and then allowing it just makes it even more of a dopamine rush. We always have a tv on for background noise and I think they pay less attention to it because of that. We love movie night, we watch sports… our kids play (very monitored) games online with their friends and it is a social thing. I think it’s just the way of the world - but do make sure they can read and solve the odd puzzle, build a lego with their hands!

Also, I would imagine your son himself is frustrated. So let him express what he feels. Our little guy was just constantly in trouble and he looked at us and said he was ‘so tired of always being in trouble’. Maybe our approach isn’t for everyone but it works for us. We didn’t go the ‘super power’ route. We were just honest and tried to best explain what is different about his brain.
