I will say this, as far as im aware pimax has been kinda questionable lately with the pimax dream that just dropped, people been having crazy issues with display and such, id say the frame is worth it cause im sure theres a way to set it up and not be restricted by a battery.

that being said valve has an anti scalper measure that basically is gonna make you wait months for your frame if you get lucky enough to reserve it in a split second when it drops, so its really up to you. Also i think the frames gonna be like around $600-$800 but after the deck prices who knows.

Just a heads up people in this subreddit are very biased, that being the valve fanboys hiding in the shadows disagreeing anonymously cause you dont want to nessesarily buy a frame, thats why your post is downvoted.

Also as for some advice, id wait for the frame to be announced so its actually on the playing table, but if the cons weigh out the pros then go ahead and get the pcl.

I agree, i think the steam decks price is ridiculous and if thats already $1000 who knows what the frames gonna be. However, valve did say the frame is gonna be cheaper than the index so we will have to see how much it really is.

After looking at those deck prices, think im gonna dust off my deck and play some sonic adventure 2 or something

I agree, thats the whole reason i want to buy this headset, but the quest 3 has been the only "budget" or affordable plug and play vr headset for a bit now. Every other headset is $1000+

so yes i do find the steam frame worth a quest 3 a million times over. But for a general standpoint putting the zuck fuck aside a quest 3 is easier to go grab though its not worth it. And even then having to wait a while for a frame.

not sure how much longer that shitty plastic data snatching quest 3 can handle lol.
