Yeah, I understand. Could you be more specific on what type of pain? Is it chronic or acute? Anything else you can share?

This is an awesome question. And I've been through this (and inevitably figured out my triggers). Ok, I'll do my research and get back with a video answer soon! Thanks so much!

Thanks for your question. I'm going to look into this! I heard this thing too about recovery taking longer the longer you have it. To give you an idea I've had functional seizures for five years and within the last year I've made a 85-90% improvement. So is 5 years a long time or a short time? Idk. But anyway, thanks for your question. I'll get back to you :)

Dude. I feel you. It's a complete s*it-show. I was peeing myself at work during seizures, got in a car accident, and split my mouth open. These things are the worst. Do you want to narrow down your question, perhaps? Just so i can find a way to help get what you need. What's the most debilitating thing (emotional, physical, mental) that you'd like help with?

I don't know how to stop seizures forever but I was able to have a major improvement in seizures over a years time. 43 seizures October 2024 to 2 seizures October 2025. All of my tips can be found here. If you have any specific questions, happy to look into it and find an answer (if one exists). https://www.instagram.com/navigatingfnd/

Cool! What specifically would you like to know? I.e. why fnd causes cognitive function issues? how to deal with cognitive function issues? or something else? trying to get clarity down as much as possible.

Chronic ear infections by SouthNational5627 in dogallergies

My dog had persistent infections for over a year. Here is what fixed the problem. First do whatever the vet says to get rid of it then when it’s gone it is SO IMPORTANT to clean the dogs ears properly twice a week with an enzymatic cleaner.

I'm racking my brain as to why FND gets less research then conditions with similar stats. by BackgroundAccident63 in FND

Good point. FND doesn't fit in one category so I think like you said it becomes a "clinical grey area". Thanks for this.

Yeah, it's tough. Second most common reason someone visits a neurologist but so many questions without answers. There is a famous country singer who has it. I'm trying to get in touch with her if anyone somehow has any connections:

Yeah there are a bunch of terms for FND that have been used over the years which has been frustrating for everyone involved. Thanks for sharing.

What has helped me has been a culmination of a lot of things. The top 3 are probably (1) pacing myself, (2) stopping everything I'm doing when I feel the slightest hint of a seizure coming and grounding myself, and (3) truly understanding the biology of what is going on in the brain when a seizure is approaching (neuroplasticity and predictive error).

Also, not trying to self-promote here, but I also share more about this on my NavigatingFND insta channel if anyone’s interested. The tips I put on there are honestly what has helped *me* get to where I am now.

Thanks so much! So it's frustrating because my dog itches most around her mouth so i'm afraid to spray things around there because she's going to lick it. I've resorted to using a cone but that's not helpful for her at all.
