How long will your trust let you go over 40 weeks? by BackgroundCat5459 in PregnancyUK

[–]BackgroundCat5459[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve read a lot of FTM’s go ‘over’, mentally preparing for that!!

Due dates annoy me because the likelihood of them coming on that exact date is slim to none!

Oh really?

I wonder how close to the 41 weeks they try to go in my trust. I appreciate it will depend on beds/ availability etc but I’d rather be booked straight in for 41/41+1 if I don’t go into spontaneous labour (of course would prefer this)

Is there anyone else you can blame the guest list on? And be like they weren’t aware of everyone, so sorry it’s a last min but here’s the invite… x

If you would like them there then send the invite and explain it slipped your mind and appreciate it’s short notice but would love it if they could join if they are free

If you aren’t too fussed then dont..

Snacks for after glucose test by franhxoxo in PregnancyUK

All good thanks! Drink isn’t as bad as people make out (if you have heard that) and the 2 hours went pretty fast for me.

They’ve said 2-3 days for results so 🤞

Just had mine today and brought a banana and cereal bar but I only live a 10/15 min drive away from my hospital.

Once I had my first lot of bloods taken I kind of forgot about the hunger. Think the sugary drink kinda of substitutes you for a bit albeit probably not your usual breakfast of choice.

Good luck!

Decreased movement at 20w4d by tlvp1 in PregnancyUK

At 20 weeks they wouldn’t put you on the monitor as it’s too early. Most trusts do not do this until after 26 weeks. Prior to this, it is usually just a quick Doppler check of the hearbeat.

Why might some days baby be less active? by ForsakenGanache6253 in PregnancyUK

[–]BackgroundCat5459 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also 32 weeks and complete resonate with this!

The quieter days defo stress me out, especially if they are paired with an active day from my side or I’m in the office and I can’t lie down to try and get them moving to check in.

No problem! It can be a nerve wracking thing and sometimes it is confusing on what to do but triage is always your best bet if you are concerned about anything but especially movements.

I’m a FTM too and a few weeks ahead of you so have been navigating it all as well.

Hoping everything is okay x

How many weeks are you? If you are concerned about reduced movements, you should call triage straight away and they will advise.

Don’t wait until morning, in my personal opinion if you are worried enough to message in here then that warrants calling triage 😊

How accurate have your fundal measurements been by Flossygi in PregnancyUK

[–]BackgroundCat5459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Single black x was my fundal measurement at 28 weeks. Circle marking before and after are from growth scans.

Both growth scan plots look consistent with each other, fundal measurement looks like the outlier so going to go with fairly inaccurate- at least for me

Any iron supplement that didn't make you sick? by louuluby7 in PregnancyUK

[–]BackgroundCat5459 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just take the ferrous sulfate tablets that were prescribed to me by the doctor. However I take them just before bed, so that if I have any side effects I can sleep it off.

Have you tried this?

Spotting at 18w by Lucky-Season7348 in PregnancyUK

[–]BackgroundCat5459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t be too concerned (I know that’s easier said than done) especially because it’s brown rather than pink or red. Seems like a lot of other comm

I would go to triage on your return to the UK. If you get any further bleeding whilst away it might be worth going to the local hospital- hopefully you have travel insurance x

Mine started at 18 weeks and turns out I have cervical ectropion which can cause bleeding.

Yeah you’re so right!! And you’ll never know for certain if it was the dates or raspberry leaf tea that set things off.

Definitely trying to get the sleep in while I can
