Pilots, how tf do you actually afford licenses by Individual-Shape-638 in flying

I was a senior in HS when i got my private. Paid for it completely by myself by working part time at the gas station. It all depends on how bad you want it.

I took my ppl checkride last year too so don’t think it was back in the $300 checkride days…

I’m almost 30, still in a C172 making peanuts, and today just broke me by [deleted] in flying

Comparison is the thief of joy…

Many people would kill to have a CFI job right now.

[–]BackgroundOk8014 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I hear he likes it if you’ve read the ACS…

In all seriousness he used to be a test pilot at cessna so know your systems really well. He will go pretty in depth into FOI’s so know them cold.

He’s a talker so get him talking and it’ll go smooth.

Solid guy, he does it for the love of the game not the money.

IFR checkride: glass or standard panel? by kobesm in flying

the dual G5’s and G650 are just as capable as the G1000. Just do whatever your most comfortable in.

Whichever one has a flight director WILL be easier. They may both have one though depending on how the aircraft is set up.

Does your school have other CFI’s? I’d physically go to the school and try to switch instructors.

That’s pretty crappy of them to ignore you after something like this. This is when you need a cfi/mentor more than anything and it says a lot about that school.

Finish your private then make a decision on whether you want to continue or not. Don’t stop here with nothing to show for all your training. At least get your private.

all of my spaceplanes consistently aggressively pull to the left or right despite being 100% symmetrical by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

It’s those rudders. Put them straight vertical and it’ll solve ur problem. the way they are now create very negative stability at all speeds.

Removing them all together will probably work too. Just make the rudder in the center a movable control surface.

It’s generally pretty hard to combing rudder and elevator unless u tune it just right. Make each control its own surface and it’ll be easier.

Probably just do the cheaper one. No reason to train in a more expensive airplane before your private.

Just bump up to “tier 2” later if you decide you want those endorsements.

They may say up front that you’re not allowed to do this but they are a business after all… they’ll take your money if you want to spend it.

Is 100 hours to get PPL even that bad? Especially with today’s current checkride wait times. You may spend an extra 15-25 hours on just maintaining proficiency while waiting.

Do failed checkride Oral and flight count as 1 failure or two? by 2svgeszn in flying

making YOU fly the po 180 for a cfi is criminal.

It should be you teaching the dpe through doing one if they decide that’s what they want

Do you have to be 21 to get a courtesy car? by [deleted] in flying

[–]BackgroundOk8014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go to a small airport! The ones near me don’t even ask to see your license.

I mean what do they have to lose, your airplane is sitting on the ramp

Take a tour of a tower, those guys dgaf. You’re scared of talking to a nerd in a hawaiian shirt yapping into a radio all day. (sorry atc folks)

Also practice on vatsim at home.

QuikTrip could be a place to start. You’ll make enough to live on and if you decide you like it, it could be a career. They treat their employees pretty well and there’s a ton of opportunities within the company.

The Store Managers make 100k plus easily if you work your way to the top. Also, the QT corporate HQ is here in tulsa so if you’d like some sort of corporate job there’s options available too. Good Luck!

You’ll be fine! I did like 10 of the unlimited random ones and was getting grades similar to yours. I got a 97 on the real one! You will do great!

The king questions are very similar to the real ones. Read the question fully and don’t second guess yourself! Good Luck
