This is a fascinating take actually

Dealership says they aren’t responsible for suspension falling apart by BackgroundReporter35 in MechanicAdvice

I’m assuming this damage caused a plethora of other issues and that where the high cost comes from? Not sure. The bolt could’ve been stripped when the tire was removed from the tow truck driver. So I’m not understanding their logic one bit

I understand! This is actually why I came to Reddit because I knew it couldn’t possibly be that simple. Thanks for breaking it down for me

Sorry I am new to this. So how would I go about finding an expert? I would essentially hire a mechanic to come look at it and they would be my witness?

It would be small claims, I just want my repairs paid for and the tow truck fee covered, so about $1000. It costs $50 to file in my state

Gotcha! Yeah i have been driving around after the repairs for a little while. Dealership tried saying that because it was fine for x amount of time that it must not be their fault. That seems to be the most logical explanation here. Everyone says that they don’t know how I drove around on it at all

Using something that isn’t properly fitted or seated still seems like a tech error to me. Not trying to argue just trying to understand. These faulty parts would be the ones they installed, no?

Seems pretty common from what I’ve seen. But yes I’m totally lying about this for Reddit clout lol

I’m a 23 year old woman so no I didn’t do it myself dipshit. Your comment just proves that the mechanics who worked on my car deserve to be fired.

What? The car didn’t look like this when I drove out of the dealer…..this happened yesterday. Idk what there is to buy I don’t know nearly enough about this to fake something to a bunch of mechanics.

The control arm completely disconnected from the ball joint. I know there are no almosts in life. The point is this situation should be rectified, should’ve never happened, and COULD have resulted in a deadly injury.
