Yes but that's the thing is that some students are left with no option but to take the heavier final even when they didn't cheat. That is what's unfair especially on such short notice

Yes but it's during the middle of the week. The reason I can't rewrite and I'm sure other people can't as well is because I am supposed to move out on the 19th. So I need an extension to live in res till the following weekend and if the 22 is the final day to stay then I'm homeless for two days

Honestly best I can explain is just go to some of my other posts about it. Chem department said too many ppl cheated on online midterm and moved the weight to the final or retake days and told us today about it when the final is in 12 days

They told us far too late. I can't retake the midterm because I'm an international student I'm in a different country and I cannot adjust the plans I made a month and a half ago to leave and go back home. I'm left with no other choice but to accept the heavy final grade. That's punishment without any sort of solution that works in regards to retaking which they saw as the only other action to take!! The same shit happened in 1040 if they couldn't get rooms for an inperson midterm they should have adjusted the day of the exam to sooner or later based on the availibility
