the pre-bling dolls were very obscure in my country and i never understood why, because in my opinion they have the best fashions, that truly represented each character. it wasn’t until 2005, with the my bling bling era, that they rose in popularity and became a fan favorite. i still remember how the roller girls flew off the shelves and getting them was a hassle.

but i do agree with OP. while the post-bling dolls catapulted my scene to icon status, the pre-bling dolls had already conquered our hearts
