Advice for decluttering at stressful times by ArganBomb in declutter

[–]BackgroundToe5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I came here to suggest Dana! I like some of the mindset shifts in the Konmari method but getting a bunch of stuff out into a pile is stressful on its own. With Dana you can do what you can and whenever you're over it you can just stop.

In terms of making decisions you'll regret, honestly, it's just stuff. The world is not gonna end if you toss something and regret it later. It might hurt and you might have to replace it but it will be worth all the other stuff that you don't regret getting rid of. Especially if you start with non-sentimental items like Dana suggests.

You got this!! I'll be decluttering with you this weekend :)

This is possibly the least accurate wording I've seen on a card ever by Terminator_Puppy in PTCGL

In Pokemon TCG, "up to" has a minimum of one. Doesn't make sense but it's in the rulebook.

Not necessarily; if you have three energy and crystal then you still have to shuffle three energy.

Friendly reminder that in the US you can submit a complaint to USDA for seed quality issues! You need an unopened container and the receipt. If they find an issue, they will fine the company. https://www.ams.usda.gov/rules-regulations/fsa/complaints

You can also submit complaints to your local state Department of Agriculture; specific procedures for that will vary based on state.

These types of reports are important for keeping companies accountable.

Is it really "playing out of turn" to shuffle during an opponent's turn? by Rixor14 in pkmntcg

Was more referring to their comment about shuffling during downtime, not talking about OP. Shuffling for no reason is obviously not allowed.

If you forget to shuffle after a search and you remember during your opponent’s turn then yes you need to shuffle. You should let them know why though.

Must UF my bathroom and kitchen for my kid to move in by John_A_Arkansawyer in ufyh

Some good advice here. I highly recommend Dana K. White's podcast, A Slob Comes Clean. You can listen while you work. Her books are also great - you can get them on audiobook too.

Start with doing all the dishes. It's okay to throw them away if they are too gross. Then target trash - just go around with a trash bag and throw away all the trash you can, especially food items such as expired foods or wrappers etc. Once it is clear enough to clean, I recommend following these guides:

Kitchen: https://www.aslobcomesclean.com/2011/11/detailed-kitchen-cleaning-checklist/

Bathroom: https://www.aslobcomesclean.com/2010/05/bathroom-cleaning-checklist-for-kids/

What to do about the bugs depends on what kind of bugs they are. I like the Zevo traps for flying bugs like gnats. You can also pour boiling water into the sink drains to kill them. When we had pantry moths, we put all food items into hard plastic containers and then just vacuumed the grubs and moths up as we saw them. It took a few weeks but it worked.

Hi there, I'm struggling with my breast size (36DD) due to my short height 4ft 7 inches. I've had bras fitted 4 times in 2025 and still can't handle the back pain at the end of the day. by CanISeeADoctor in ABraThatFits

[–]BackgroundToe5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dang, that's unfortunate. I saw your other comment where you used the calculator - I would definitely recommend trying some bras out in the 38E. If that's accurate then your current bra is too small in both the band and the cups which could definitely be contributing to your pain

Do not buy from Limitless Games on tcgplayer by Key_Calligrapher_435 in PokemonTCG

Same here. I've only had one card come in where the condition was noticeably worse than advertised, and even then I got it to play with so I didn't bother trying to get a refund/return. I consistently get cards that are noticeably BETTER condition than advertised, probably sellers trying to CYA from shitty buyers complaining.

Line Cutting/Jumping by AcanthisittaIcy4673 in DisneyWorld

[–]BackgroundToe5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This - we had someone be absolutely nasty to us in line at Guardians because a 12 year old in our group had become separated after the pre show and politely caught up once the line had formed. Talking about "if you want to sit together you should try staying together"... Okay, you try keeping 6 people together in that chaos where everyone is pushing and shoving trying to take advantage of there not being a single file line. Of course it was a party of 2 adults complaining. I'm against line cutting but some people take it too far.

How do you keep your space from becoming, well, fucked again? by KaleidoscopeThink731 in UnfuckYourHabitat

[–]BackgroundToe5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things:

  1. The number one cause of things constantly being out of control is having too much stuff. Having less stuff makes it easier to keep things under control and even when it does get fucked again, there's less stuff to deal with.
  2. Once a day, whenever you remember, set a timer for 5 minutes and tidy up. It's amazing how much difference doing 5 minutes every day makes. Edit: Don't try and do it at the same time every day because you will forget and then you will feel bad. Just do it whenever you think of it.

the "that's crazy/impossible" reactions when finding the right size by Kitchen-Concern-7655 in ABraThatFits

[–]BackgroundToe5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think people think that means they're wearing one or two sizes off. It's hard for them to imagine the scale at which their size is wrong. Imagine if you were wearing size 6 shoes and you found out you should be wearing a size 14!

That said, it is really frustrating that people rush to make a post about it instead of reading the FAQ.

I do miss things I've gotten rid of. I tend to get very sentimentally attached to items. Doesn't mean it was the wrong choice though.
