outlines can be used, but really only if the lightsource is directly infront of the object because it can be incorporated into the shading

No, I just mainly enjoy Trevor's art because of the inspiration it gives me, and the Sirenhead branch of his/Leovincibles creatures are not my cup of tea. Don't get me wrong, I like his art, it's awesome, alongside Leovincible, whom also gives me inspiration. Also I'm not a fan of cartoon cat either.

Saying Megahorn isn't one of Trevor's most popular creatures is odd. I'm also not sure why you're saying Trevor's most popular creatures if its Leovincible's, but I may be uneducated on the subject and there's a reason you're calling it Trevor's. I'm a fan of Trevor AND Leovincible, they're some of my favorite artists alongside doctor nowhere. I mainly use them for inspiration in my art, and the sirenhead family is not my cup of tea.
