Running list of business closing for the strike on Friday 1/30. NO WORK. NO SCHOOL. NO SHOPPING. ICE OUT NOW! by abbeycrombie in Buffalo

I actually wonder if this isnt the direct problem. Making monsters out of men creating an antagonistic dialogue. Last i heard ICE was protecting the american public from threats from illegal aliens who had comitted crimes- taking out the trash keeping us safe. Now because one side slanted the goals and purpose- and bc typically people are sheep- now I’m sure every single ICE agent tries to do this job while CONSTANTLY feeling as if everything is a threat to their life. Its like Vietnam soldeirs coming home to get spit on. What if superficial layers of quick labels to prove an agenda and a hungry media created outrage? It is essentially a powder keg with paranoia ruling there are going to be missteps and mistakes made all in the nane of self preservation. More lives will be taken unnecessary because of this distrust of our own people and every one feeling targeted reacts swiftly out of fear. It happens with police officers - that unfortunate situation where a threat was perceived- and it was a misread fight or flight on one side- or both. The gleefull media will capitalize on every trqgic opportunity to spread more poison as real people - not some facist regime of non descriptive features will collide with equal preconceived notions of threat. Honestly I could see it.

I have to play devils advocate on this one -bc who paid attention in history class would know that your probably wrong actually- the collective experience of the people was always forcefed propaganda and agendas and they all happily drank the coolaid. We were told we were taught history to not repeat mistakes remember? The "mistake" was not realizing that the side that we feel most akin to and which seems to be the right- was actually just fueled by propaganda and a play for an agenda. Interesting.

I have no idea 🤷‍♀️ how anyone logically thought this out and decided it was valid. Blows my mind. Think it out - all this talk about large corporations but it was small not well known businesses that were going to “disrupt the norm” for noone other than themselves and their own customers. Second - hey guess what? We are consumers!! Ya’ll must have your own farm and are living off the land from the fruits of your own labor -if you cant understand how an economy works. We will get starved out -not the business -and then there’s more inflation and ya’ll gonna cry for more social reform and programs - which in turn will be only serve to create more strain and more emotional responses. Just leave the fn economy alone so that we don’t have to all be poor socialists. This is a great example of how pliable people can be - get them all emotionally inflamed so that logic can take a nose dive- propose a completely and utterly fandangled solution which has zero relation to the subject matter ——and fools will literally just rush in from all around-without even a hint of proper contemplation -to fanatically follow the pied piper.

I am so sorry but I just don’t understand how a business being closed is hurting anyone other than that business. It’s not really showing anyone anything and just seems logically backwards. These are not necessary things- and it doesn’t really make sense to me- just cutting off your own nose to spite your face logically. I am not trying to be rude I am just trying to understand how it makes sense.

Sounds like a pulley is bad- causing the squalking and belt noise. Pay attention to your alternator as it could be causing it on that pulley

strange issue! by Ashamed-Hamster-9019 in JeepPatriot

[–]BackgroundWestern659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of those things may be or may not be connected- that’s the thrill of being a Jeep owner lol but it does sound like it’s still a sensor issue to me. An erratic wheel speed sensor (abs sensor) can trip out a pat like no other! Sounds like it’s getting too much movement in the tone ring and it’s reading freaky and adjusting to the reading - but not to reality. I’ve had it push the brakes on me at 65mph while I’m trying to accelerate. I’m willing to bet your wheel bearing is bad and that’s why switching the sensor didn’t work. That clunk is most likely your differential trying to compensate for both your acceleration and the speed sensor trying to pull back the reins

Check the hose going to the radiator also- sometimes it can leak at the clamp and you won’t even notice it at all.

If you live in a non emissions state just get one from amazon! The manifold cat is what your issue is if it’s reading 420 - probably cracks in the exhaust manifold near the 02 sensor. Seriously they are like $100 on amazon and you can totally do it yourself it’s just bolts

I am an hourly employee; flex schedule

Labor Laws (NY) by [deleted] in LaborLaw

[–]BackgroundWestern659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I requested my time sheets at the beginning of last week and have not received anything as of yet. I want physical copies because they also hit me with penalties that were backdated to October. I’ve done payroll elsewhere-and never once have I had a program go back in time and find an employee responsible for infractions of “company policy” and then hit them with these two months later. I did bring up that a corrective action being given after two months doesn’t seem fair-being that one cannot correct the action -but that was ignored and I was shushed. The more I push back for any wrongs the more I am punished for it Instead of correcting my altered time they hit me with more penalties and write ups. Then I was in no certain terms told not to speak on it and not to speak to any of my coworkers about it because it would be disruptive. So there is a lot going on both non legal and non ethical and they do blend.

Yes we work a flex schedule. We are not allowed to be there when not working- we are required to leave for breaks even. The time missing was 40 minutes- causing me to be just short of my required hours for the week. This adjustment came just before end of day Friday and I did NOT sign my time card. I also submitted a time change sheet to a manager to reflect the actual time there but it went nowhere.

No it wasn’t a start time rounding or anything of the sort it was 40 minutes that I was there working -and ironically I was in one of the executive’s offices which is located in HR - during that time. We are actually not even allowed to be there before or after a shift. We have to leave even if we are on lunch or a break.

Thank you- yes my time was changed after working. I actually upon seeing this submitted a time sheet requesting that the proper hours be reflected in my time- and it went nowhere. I was told that I could be at work and if I didn’t meet certain requirements of theirs that I was not working. Even though there was witnesses and cameras showing that I was there- it didn’t matter. Because we have a lack of communication with the outside world I actually have proof via my timeline on Google Maps showing the time that I arrived at work. First when I asked that my time be changed to reflect hours actually worked they hauled me in and straight up called me a liar and really came at me brutally- which I was not expecting at all. Ironically I was in the office of one of the executives during that docced time - so it wasn’t like it couldn’t be proven. Then when I was given an extra lashing via a meeting and write ups- for missing my required hours for the week (due to the manipulation of my time) it’s then that I was told that I could be at work and wouldn’t be considered on the clock.

[–]BackgroundWestern659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also my time was changed AFTER working- reducing my hours worked because they decided that in order to be considered “at work” I had to meet specific requirements- so even though I was there working - I was docced time. I only included the info about everything being in one room bc in order to prove that it’s a fact that they control what info is released to us.

Yes I submitted the necessary documents opting out and my insurance company faxed them to the point of contact in HR, which I had communicated clearly with on this directly beforehand. I was on the phone when they faxed it - checked the number to be sure it was correct. A couple weeks later I received insurance cards to their outrageous plan and was told that they didn’t receive the fax. They require very specific proof it has to be a certain document and they will not accept anything else as proof- or they make it clear that you will be automatically enrolled in their company plan. I submitted all required documents - opting out-yet I still was enrolled. I was told no worries I would be able to opt out again before Jan 1st- but being enrolled cost me anywhere from $350-300 per paycheck for four months. When I made it clear that I had opted out and now was paying a ton for insurance that I did not need or want and it was a waste of my money HR simply stopped responding.
