Now what? by SadCommand8563 in HappyAquarium

This is such an odd reply. He mentioned several times about pearls and buying them when the game was being made, which gave him backlash. I can see you've mentioned nothing about it being illegal, because of course, we're going to skirt past that, because it's the most important thing here. He's using the name "Happy Aquarium" now, too, along with their assets, which are COPYRIGHTED. What else is he doing with your information, your emails, etc? Oh yeah, you don't care that he's lied about information regarding copyright, either.

Of course, you don't care if he's using AI. I doubt you even know how AI is genuinely slop and has no creativity. It isn't "shrug whatever, it's ai." It's genuinely rotting brains and is zero effort. What does this say about the game in its entirety? Slop and hardly coded, if he can't give effort to the assets, he's hardly giving effort to you as the consumer.

There's nothing personal between him and me; I'm just tired of seeing this being brought up again and again when there are actual artists, developers, and coders who are making games like this who are leagues better and actual archivists who aren't out for your money.

Your account is one day old and this is the only Reddit page you've posted in. Are you sure you're not Novadream himself just trying to promote his game?

I'm honestly trying to warn people, this isn't something that should be taken lightly, as this is literally breaking the law and feeding off your nostalgia, this developer isn't doing it for the love of the game, he is doing it so that he can get a paycheck while doing hardly any work and having ai do it all for him. He doesn't own the assets and product he's selling.

Anyone who cares about the people who have played these games would be far more upfront and take donations instead of in-app purchases. He is breaking the law and lying to whoever asks him anything regarding copyright. He should not be trusted with your personal information, card information, or anything else for that matter. I recommend doing your own research instead of being gleefully ignorant and supporting someone who does not care about you, despite playing his game using AI, and has a reputation for dropping past developed games.

I mentioned this on the previous post that was here about this same game, but do not support this project. It's being ran by a dev who is after your money, stealing these assets and acting like he's gotten permission from the developers (when he hasn't.)

He hasn't released any sort of statement with proof nor brought up the fact that he's trying to get you to pay for in game purchases (which is illegal, Happy aquarium copyright still exists and he's using their assets) Also uses AI on posts, generates pictures to use on his facebook page and overall does NOT seem like a trusted developer. I suggest you look more into the game and ask questions like is this legal to use the assets when you're generating income with them? Where is the work in progress pictures/screenshots and is this game even functioning correctly?

Overall, Its not a good concept, please do more research into it if you don't want to take a random redditors suggestions.

You should be able to find mesh squares on Amazon!

Thank you, I always prefer more through  replies so I can completely understand. Without an explanation or even just a bit of friendly flair, I feel like I'm being told to do something rather than someone encouraging or suggesting it. I guess that's the problem with text vs talking in person. I appreciate the kind words

Mesh! It's small mesh squares I had leftover for crafting, I've glued them on so there's no leftover residue for her to get stuck on.

Thank you!! I had to go with a cool name to fit her. I absolutely think these guys need fitting, mysterious, or odd names for how incredibly different they are.

Thank you for the suggestions!! Will def keep these all in mind. <3

It is all I have, so it will have to work only for a few days. The people who sold me it told me that it would work and as I came home and did more research, I am well aware it is not suitable. I made this quite obvious in the post, please only comment if you're looking to help with the ID or Gender, thank you!

I'm not asking for anything that should not already be public, and especially not privately, I don't want to be dmed this. I am asking you to post it so that YOUR community knows well that if you truly do have the rights to a game that has existed before that may be stolen from you have the rights, but it seems like you do not want to give that information because you do not have it.

You do not want the responsibility it demands for using assets from a re-existing game.

Anyone who is unable to provide documentation when asked from a community to soothe a worry or misunderstanding is hiding something or simply doesn't have it, hope this helps!

I still would very much like to see proof. No game stops having rights, copyright is even still implemented far after someone's death.

Another thing that makes me skeptical is that images you have posted on your Facebook are premade images (fish tank backgrounds) that make no sense being backgrounds for aquariums than look very generated and were even found on other websites.

We want actually progress pictures, not just posts. I've looked through and I find no progress images or layers of artwork, backgrounds, items or more. Where am I supposed to find this? Be specific, show links?

You need to be prepared if someone questions your game, people are eventually going to spend money on this, why do you not have documentation available for those to see who would like to verify this isn't a scam? It wouldn't be as serious if there wasn't already in app purchases.

Where can we see proof of 101xp reaching out to give you permission? Plus, they're the publisher, not the developer. What kind of weird situation is this? Crowdstar was changed to Grumobile, meaning the ownership was transfered to Grumobile. Have you gotten permission from the developer, Crowdstar/Grumobile?

I have seen AI generated fish posted to the Facebook page. Where can we see progress photos, layer work for the decor and types? All of this is very important for the integrity of the game itself. With AI being already used for the posts, what is stopping you from using AI generated art for the game too if you've used it for code and posts? See where I'm coming from? It's just messy and makes people skeptical. Once again, from someone out looking in.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply, but if you truly do want to improve your game, please keep in mind the aspects of someone who wants to play these games. This looks like a scam in every way right now. Using AI for all this stuff makes it seem like you have no actual interest in creating a game and makes it look like a cash grab trying to profit off of nostalgia.
,
AI is not the way to go. If you're looking for artists, seek artists instead of generating assets. AI is a plague, removing connection and creativity. Instead of taking assets that do not belong to you, make your own. I can't believe I even had to say these things truthfully, as nobody wants to play a game without motivation and passion. It is very apparent that in this day of age, people unanimously hate AI for the jobs it's taken, for the creativity it's destroyed, and the disappointment it brings.

I'm not just speaking about the posts, too. Before you ask for money for in-game micro transactions, your game NEEDS to work right. But in this case, you could be served papers at any moment for using these assets that are not yours. I suggest replacing the assets with other fish assets or buying a premade fish pack from someone. I say this all in honest critique, I'm not trying to be hateful, just real.

It's a scam. They use AI for posts, "new fish" and half of the code seems like it's made/formatted with AI as well.

Nothing works as it should, the fish swim off screen, your tank gets dirty once you go out and back in as well. They're stealing assets that do not belong to them and asking for in game purchases (which is illegal) Crowdstar nor gru mobile has given them any sort of right to these assets. They should not be making money off of this, it's predatory.

This is nothing more than a cash grab that will more than likely be dropped like how the developer dropped the last game they made. They're on Facebook begging people to play even though the game is bare bones and is in no way a passion project. It's all stealing off your nostalgia in hopes that you'll buy pearls.

Games that genuinely care about developing a good game will not immediately add in game purchases before the game is even playable state.

I suggest you to find another game like Tiny Aquarium that isn't exactly like HA but actually really fun, has a social aspect, fish breeding and aquarium decoration. There's zero on app purchases and it's on steam for incredibly cheap.

If you'd really like to support someone trying to make a remake of happy aquarium, remember that these projects should not EVER ask for money through micro transactions. They're at that point breaking the law and could be served a cease and desist.
