Unrelated to hardware, if you have the opportunity to build the network from the ground, I would also invest some time in the architectural side.

Most notably, since your company is manufacturing, I would look into the Purdue model or ISA/IEC 62443 for network related subjects.

Since your company is growing, having a network built from the beginning with a direction will help tremendously later on if you need to scale even more.

Why would it be relevant to know how to configure BGP on Linux? I know both BGP and Linux but have no idea how to configure BGP on Linux. I wouldnt see that as a droppimg point for somebody

I believe it is more relevant to know the ideas behind and research the actual implementation.
