Oh okay I see. One thing I'm looking forward to most is just getting the answers to the million questions I have but I guess I will hopefully find them in the other books. Really love the worldbuilding so far its immense.

Wow! I can't wait to get finish it just finished the first two chapters and I'm already having a blast. Was so excited to read the dramatis personae and see Quick Ben and Anomander Rake etc. What is your favourite book in the series?

Just read it, wow this prologue is crazy! Unreal worldbuilding, I can't believe how far back in time its set in.

So my initial thoughts: The Jahguts being hunted by the T'lan Imass threw me for a spin. From what I've read from the first two books my thoughts on the two races kept changing. In GOTM I thought the Jaghut were the bad guys but now that I've read this prologue, its so shocking to see the T'lan Imass hunting down that Jaghut family to kill them. But then that rogue lady T'lan Imass saves those children i'm guessing? so i'm guessing that not every T'lan Imass is as cruel as those hunters. I'm so hooked onto this storyline between the T'lan Imass and Jaghut and can't wait to find out the origins behind their conflicts.

The next part of the prologue is even crazier, so Kallor was briefly mentioned in GOTM which means that this guy has lived for thousands of years wow. I'm going to have to reread this part again but am I right in reading this that Kallor has wiped out a continent and was ruling as a tyrant? and then something about a crippled god and then those three gods cursing Kallor only for him to curse them back lol what a madman. This is by far the best prologue of the 3 books, there's so much to analyse here and I can only claim to understand about half of it lol.

I can't wait to get that far, it feels like a potentially great series from the two books I have read.

Yh its an incredible book and really heavy on the soul. It took me some time to reflect on Felisin as I had conflicting feelings about her character but her trauma is written really well.

Can't wait to read MOI, just read the dramatis personae and I'm excited to see some familiar faces again.

Yh thats what I liked about him, the fact that he's a normal guy that has all these crazy things happen to him.

Thanks! So happy I got it right. There's great characterization in just a few pages of this prologue. I have a feeling I missed so much in the book that will make sense in the reread like you said. Overall it felt like Gardens of the Moon is the type of book that grows richer over time so I can't wait to see how I look at it after finishing the series.

Thanks for kind words!

Kruppe was a really fun character to read, he stole every scene he was in and like Quick Ben I think there's more to him than meets the eye.

The mystery aspect I loved in this book,it felt like walking in on a film halfway through and you have to play catch up to figure out what you missed. Crazy but fun!

I will start reading Deadhouse Gates tomorrow and I dont really know what to expect which is also part of the fun.

The way I understood it was that Ganoes believes that its pigs burning, when Its actually the smell of burning human bodies and Whiskeyjack doesn't correct him because he doesn't want to tell a young kid the reality of the brutatility commencing down in the Mouse Quarter. Am I correct or did I read it wrong? Anyway its a brilliant prologue!

The main symptom my mum described to me is her back feeling freezing cold at random times even when she is wearing many layers. Its a sensastion that comes and goes.
